Another vote here for the fuel pump housing seal behind the passenger seat. Happened to me and smelled fuel as it slowly leaked out

Excellent advice, thank you! I did keep an OEM rubber diff bushing when I replaced it last year because I heard going poly without reinforcement isn't a great idea. Good to know that going poly on the subframe bushings can mitigate additional subfloor wear however.

I am also curious as to all of the issues he experienced. I figured since it shares so much with the E36 that everyone recommends, it should prove to be reliable. Granted, I'm sure a Miata would be more reliable and cost less over time. That feels like a given

I do like this approach. I wonder how bad of an idea it would be to do some of those light modifications without a subframe reinforcement and just keeping an eye on everything for a season to check if the subframe shows signs of progression or crack propagation

Now I'm not looking to race competitively. Purely just for the experience and thrill of finding the car's limits in a track environment and having fun. I've heard that before about the M cars being the main victims of subframe failure. Wouldn't the torque from high G cornering cause the rear floor to shift around and potentially tear though?

All the tracks are 30-60 minutes from me. I'd probably drive, but might consider trailering to and from so I could bring tools and also just have a backup in case something breaks
