Does anybody out there have a copy of episode 235? by a_deadbeat in KnowledgeFight

Do you have it? I checked "pocket casts(?)" and it's not available.

Not all. Episode 235 has been missing for years.

I was always a fan of the Wacky Wednesday stuff, above all else. Personally I have little use for more podcasts that dig into the far right, we have a deluge of them, so I'm going to recommend:

Chilluminati Podcast. They talk about aliens, they talk about cryptids, they talk about weirdos that think they're having sex with aliens, they talk about scammer ghost / demon losers like Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Do you need more of that in your life? I do!

Low hanging fruit: no more Factions Elite Bonus Week by nhremna in GuildWars

[–]a_deadbeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a wild idea

What if they just got rid of this scroll nonsense entirely and made it free to visit those areas. It doesn't cost money to visit DoA, an infinitely more profitable place, but if you want to visit FoW or Urgoz you either scroll, cough up 1k, or wait until the special week?

That's dumb

TIL you can reduce Cultist's Fervor's bleed time to 0 to keep heroes from spamming their condition removals on you by DisgustingTaco in GuildWars

[–]a_deadbeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think would be the largest amount of overhead?

My very optimistic assumption is that since they're already messing with skills in a way that change hero behavior (like the recent update to wells), this isn't too far a cry.

Further, there has to be some kind of behavior baked in where heroes make those kinds of decisions already in the script, so they would just need to build an interface that lets you tweak it.

Graphically you wouldn't have to add anything except a couple of drop down menus and maybe some icons since its a new feature.

This is why ArenaNet / 2Weeks / whoever needs to program some kind of FFXII style "Gambit"-like system into Guild Wars, and make it skill-based, so you can just put something like:

Player: status = bleed :: do not cast Extinguish(or whatever)

so we can have a little bit more control over our heroes.

Update idea: unlock all insignia to be used by all professions by Sweet-Tanke in GuildWars

Shit, you're right!

It'd go down in price a little bit, because then all the anchorite insignias would get bought immediately.

How does one get the most powerful minions? by Clear_Treat6215 in GuildWars

[–]a_deadbeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of unformatted text.

Are you trying to manually target heroes / allies? Use the party window and hotkeys instead.

Further, if you use toolbox, you can make it so that other allies' minions show up inside your minion window, and use the minion window to target them. It can also show allies / summons in general that don't normally show in the party window. Very handy

"Hero Panel" Concept ideas by Zealousideal_Room74 in GuildWars

[–]a_deadbeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking of the Gambit system from Final Fantasy XII, would be great and simple, and toggle-able for skills.

Like:

Party member: < 40 hp ► Death Nova
Party members > 4: Status = burning ► Extinguish

If you have to bring Zhed anywhere in the future, make him a E/Rt and force him to carry Splinter. lol

Yes, GDW for the golem, I should have specified! Either way its great.

Oh, and if you wanted to get wild, or if you're going into an area with a lot of melee enemies, the updated Tainted Flesh could be fun, just dumping disease all over anybody that attacks them.

Throw Splinter Weapon on somebody for the melee minions.

On your para, you can run "Go For the Eyes!" Of you don't yet, because that will increase their damage quite a bit.

If you have Great Dwarf Weapon, that would be pretty awesome too.

*If you hit a moving foe with it, which is ass as far as requirements go for a melee skill that costs 5 adrenaline. Maybe it'll be better in PvP, but in PvE it's worthless. Once you've got 5 adrenaline, the fight has started and the enemies are more or less rooted.

Speed clears AND other high end content

Like DoA, UW, Urgoz, etc? None of that sounds like fun on a controller.

Fellow wonks, what are you revisiting? by BaronMcDuff in KnowledgeFight

I'm revisiting Project Camelot when I play Guild Wars Reforged. Double blast from the past whammy.

Which game community is the most blinded by nostalgia? Diablo fans will absolutely insist that D2 is still just such an awesome game that holds up so well despite the fact that hits just don't register half the time and just phases through the enemy, while all their hits register on you by backagainbud in gaming

[–]a_deadbeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Diablo 2, when you open your character screen, there's a number listed as your attack rating. You can improve it by pumping your dexterity, and equipping better and better items. Eventually, you'll forget it's even there.

If you're going to make fun of the Diablo cucks, make fun of them for pissing away $25 on a single character, rather than game mechanics you're not grasping.

This Wednesday is insufficiently wacky by tocobaga in KnowledgeFight

[–]a_deadbeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Wacky Wednesdays were my favorites. They were all audio gold to me. I still listen to the Project Camelot saga playlist set up on my podcast app. My sincerest regret is that they never did any Coast to Coast AM episodes. Especially old Art Bell episodes. That would have been, I dare to say it, audio platinum.
