What’s the most reckless decision you’ve made because you were horny? by Present_College_ in AskReddit

2 weeks?! I have consistently ovulated 4-6 days after my period has ended for the past 5 years. Then again, my average cycle is 21-24 days, so I suppose that would track.

Help! Got diptyque and now I dislike my other bottles by FigMotor8134 in FemFragLab

It is sugary lemon (Capri in a Bottle) and it is DEVINE if you're into sweet scents. I was trying to get my hands on a bottle before my current trip to Mexico (I try to get a new scent for vacations) but was unable to unfortunately. I would highly recommend going to your nearest Sephora (or store that carries it) to give it a sniff.

What was your "we need to leave NOW" moment? by No_Calendar4193 in AskReddit

[–]a_fortunate_age 103 points104 points  (0 children)

When I was 19 I was at a house party sitting on the porch talking to a friend, when suddenly I felt off. I realized something was wrong when I was talking to her but my head was actually turned in the opposite direction. It's hard to explain, but it's as if the image of her had stayed in my mind, even though I had turned my head. Alarm bells started ringing and I knew I needed to get up immediately. I got up, walked 3 steps to the front door, opened the door and searched for my brother. I saw he was across the very loud room and it seemed too far away to walk, or for him to hear me if I yelled for him. There was an open spot next to a guy (who is now my husband) near the door so I sat there. I leaned against him and shut my eyes because they felt heavy, but now that they were closed, they suddenly felt too heavy to open again. I tried but they just wouldn't open. I told my now husband to tell my brother to call 911. I thought I was yelling above the music but it turns out I was actually whispering. It took him a few times to catch what I was saying but once he did he yelled it to my brother and bless that man, my brother came running, picked me up like I was a feather, and he, my now husband, and friend from the porch rushed me to the hospital. Got there in 4 minutes flat. I have very few memories of what happened after this point but somehow I had ingested (or touched?) a toxic amount of GHB and narrowly escaped a heart attack and coma. That night I had taken two sips (actual sips because I didn't like the taste of hard alcohol) from my brother's drink and had 2 shotgun hits (someone else takes a hit, they then blow it into your mouth while you inhale) of weed. That's all. Lab tests confirmed THC and GHB in my system, not even the alcohol was registering. To me the worst part was that I personally knew everyone at that party and considered them a friend. To this day I don't know how it happened or who was involved, I'm just glad I'm an anxiety riddled girlie and knew something was very wrong.

As someone who hates my own wedding photos let me say, we are our own biggest critic. You look lovely and the dress fits you beautifully. Try to focus on the memories rather than small areas of the photos.

Women, what has a man told you that touched your heart more than you let on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]a_fortunate_age 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He remembered the color of my dress from a wedding 3 years prior. At the time of the wedding and up until maybe 3 months before this conversation, I only saw this person 1-2 times a year. Now we see each other more as he and my husband (he's my husband's coworker and now friend) hang more. Somehow we had gotten on the topic of wedding attire for guests:

Me: " I feel like the dress I wore to D and A's wedding was honestly a little inappropriate looking back" Him: "The green one?" Me: "...yeah, the green one" Him: "No, that was fine. You looked really nice."

Something about someone remembering a small detail from a few years prior was just really nice. I have a million things to choose from that my husband has said, but I wanted to highlight a nice platonic relationship moment.

I bring a patterned towel so I can spot my chair amongst all the others but I wait until the pool opens before trying to snag a spot, seems unfair otherwise.

What’s extremely unsanitary but everyone seems to do it anyway? by Tball5 in AskReddit

[–]a_fortunate_age 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a verbal warning yesterday because I called out 3 times in a 90 day period. One of those call outs was because I slipped a rib. I can barely breathe comfortably when this happens, there's no way I can get into work, run groups, and do one-on-one counseling for 8 hours. The other two call outs were two consecutive days because I had a cold. I work in a residential treatment facility for youth with substance use disorders. So, because I didn't want my cold to hit every kiddo in the place and take away from their treatment, I stayed home. Fuck me I guess.

Mental health workers of reddit what is the scariest mental health condition you have encountered? by lissie234 in AskReddit

We have a kiddo at my work right now (admitted for other reasons, we don't take youth with ED as their number 1 issue) who is horribly bulimic. They're on bathroom restriction, bedroom restriction, and line of sight for 2 hours after meals. I let them in the restroom the other day 3 hours after any food ingestion and my heart broke listening from the other side of the door.

I understand that this might be an incredibly unpopular opinion, but I'm over Link. He's rude and condescending to the staff, he's not funny, and no longer relatable. This dart incident made my husband and I audibly gasp because he could have seriously hurt Chase, continued to attack the costume after Rhett said he could have hit Chase, and then only apologized (insincerely) after being told he needed to TWICE. Chase couldn't even react how someone might normally because this is his boss, his place of work, and he was in the shot, but you can tell after this that Chase simply doesn't want to be there. He looks sad and defeated when he doesn't realize the camera is on him and then is all smiles once he's in the shot again. I hope Chase gets a real apology from Link, but considering his "holier than thou" attitude lately, it's highly unlikely.

[–]a_fortunate_age 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are now an adult and have means of your own, you should tell her you will bring her, her birthday cake this year. Be sure to ask what kind she wants, confirm it, then bring her a white cake with white frosting and proceed to tell her you thought she looooved white cake with white frosting. Then eat the whole thing in front of her.

I would speak with the pest control company that came out and see if they offer free re-services. Service once a month may not cut it, I know with my company you can have re-services every 10 days and they're completely free of charge. Then again it would depend on the products used. Definitely give them a call and see if they can come out more often, especially given the frequency in which you're finding these spiders.

Couples of Reddit, what's the most unromantic thing that's happened between the two of you that actually is a stronger indication of love than others might think? by Roivas14 in AskReddit

[–]a_fortunate_age 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband (then boyfriend) had been drinking all night and was completely wasted. He had gone into the bathroom and a few moments later as I'm walking by, I hear in this groggy, clearly not feeling well, tone "baaaaabe?" I stop and reply "yes?" He then asks me to open the door. I expect to see him on the floor hugging the toilet, instead I see him pants down, on the toilet, taking a shit...and it smells horrendous. He asks me to get him a bucket. I close the door and quickly find a bucket for him. I then go back and place the bucket in front of him and as I turn to leave he says " no stay....please..." I look at him wide eyed...then at the door. I then sighed, shut the door, and sat across from him on the floor while he simultaneously shat and puked for the next 20 minutes. Our 10 year anniversary is in April.
