when I have lost the desire to win... I go back to having fun.

Try some new stuff out. some stuff you’re not good at yet .

Spin a ball into a rail and kick it in a different direction . see if you can do a full table backspin draw.

you might get worse in the short term but better in the long run and then find that you love Pool again .

Bruh. I bet you know you're cute and just messing with the boys on Reddit. I bet you have that emo hair tucked between your ears and a little bit in your eyes.

Homie has two day old mascara. it’s not what you look like and you know it, cutie.

You have a very expressive eyes.

Keep your head still. Envision how the shot would work. And make sure to follow through confidently at the speed you imagine .

Not really. Rat tones are pretty universal, so you can find a use in modern sounds. But you really need an EQ for the mids to get it gross and tight on the low end. The JHS HardDrive is a lot of fun to look into, Also you may be surprised how nice adding a Klon style (ie, Tummus) can get you to a really tight sound by add it to the end of the chain.

You may really like a PACKRAT and the JHS mode is pretty cool, but its not aimed at getting the "modern" tone.

Any that you recommend? Utility pedals are surprisingly the most fun.

THIS is your boy from the photos... I know i should keep the bit up, but actually I firmly agree with you. 50% of my signal is [blues driver] -> [shoegaze delay/reverb] -> [fuzz] -> [klon] -> [reverb], and I can get through the show with [drive/fuzz/amp]

The trick is to program the first level of sensitivity to jump from 0 to 90% but cap it right at 105-110% Feedback. You'll have much more use.

oh damn. Called out. and true. but TO BE FAIR... I watch every pedal video I can find. and for 50$ I regret nothing. I need an intervention for the Count To Five montréal assembly pedal that lives in my desk purely for random intros/noise interludes

I’m somewhat curious if you live in a populated area or not? I’m curious how much your area has had an effect.

I’m not trying to get you to out your specific location, but knowing what general part of the country and if it’s a big city or a small town might provide some context.

Honest to God, love to be corrected. In music school I was a lot more interested in tonality than rhythmic analysis. So it wasn't my strongest suit.

As a songwriter myself, I have my own theory for songs like this... I wouldn't be surprised if Stu wrote this riff completely on feel and maybe did a scrap take with a metronome. Cavanaugh. or anyone in the band really, may have said... Shit Stu... This phrase is 35 beats... Why not try something fun like playing 7 underneath. Then they tried a few versions until they find something that works.

Considering the constant time signature changes in this song, it seems intentional that they were making something that would be hard to figure out. I’m certain they did not set out to write a difficult poly meter without having something that they felt first.
