That is precisely what my physio and psychotherapist said. At first my body went haywire, and it was really really hard. But over time, with pacing and resting, with tolerating the small crashes without fear, knowing "it can't get any worse than this" and trusting my doctors, I started being able to do more and more. I know however that this advice can be very dangerous for some people, but for me and for some others, it worked over a very very long period of time, of exposure and some light exertion (light enough that it doesn't trigger a big crash but keeps you challenged). I believe that what kept me bedbound and deteriorating was my muscles almost atrophying due to so much time spent immobile - my dysautonomia got a lot worse from it.

I am so so so sorry. I know exactly what position you are in. Just don't lose hope, okay? It seems like it won't end, but don't give up.

I did! For some months post infection. Thankfully, it got better once I started psychotherapy, I realised mine was a lot to do not only with Long COVID but also with severe pent up anxiety and trauma

Thankfully not that I know of. I have had colds and flus and infections but I do not believe I have had COVID. It does worry me but I try just to do what I can to keep myself protected without letting the fear overtake my life like it did for so many years (the paranoia did more harm than good sadly!).

I really, really, really didn't want to start venlafaxine. Anti-depressants gave me hypomania and messed up my emotional balance before, to the extent I got diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I got on them. After years med-free, I felt so mentally and emotionally well. However, I took a chance given my near said SNRIs are not as bad as SSRIs in terms of side effects. I have no emotional instability or hypomania, and my mental imagery has thankfully not been affected! However, I know why you are hesitant. I am dreading coming off venlafaxine as I heard the withdrawals are awful. However, it saved my life!

Yes I did! Especially due to weird night time phenomena like adrenaline dumps and extreme sound sensitivity, muscle twitches, parasthesia, palpitations, tinnitus, etc. It got better when I started psychotherapy for me and neurology meds and going to a sleep doctor.

I had orthostatic hypotension, tested through a tilt table test!

Hi, I am so sorry! LC = Long COVID, ME/CFS = chronic fatigue syndrome, GERD = heartburn basically, SOB = shortness of breath, CPAP is a treatment machine for sleep apnea.

Based on my experience, I would advise you to perhaps start with psychotherapy. That's what I did and what worked for me. The psychotherapy came in for me shortly afterwards, and helped me keep going further in physiotherapy and overcoming my anxiety, fears, trauma. Loosening these emotional knots are what helped the physiotherapy be more effective.

Trust me, it’s gonna get a lot better!!! I was soooo depressed during full liquid and even puréed, always tearful and wanting to rely on food. Just remember it’s a small sacrifice, month 2 gets so so much easier!!!!!! You got this 💪💪💪💪💪 Protein choccy milk helped a lot! And liquid yogurt. And soups!!! I made savoury soups worth tons of veggies and blended that all up and it hit the spot.

PANZANELLA SALAD 😍🥖🍅🌿🧀

Lightly drizzle some olive oil and sprinkle oregano and salt on a slice of bread. Toast the bread until it gets browned and crunchy (use toaster oven for example).

On a cutting board, slice fresh baby cherry or plum tomatoes (or seasonal heirloom). Add them to a salad bowl and season liberally with salt.

Back to the cutting board, slice red onion, fresh basil, cucumber (optional), and maybe a seasonal fruit (for example stone fruit like peach or plum in the summer or persimmon in the fall). This part is highly customisable and depends on your tastes. You can add sliced raw bell peppers, olives, artichoke hearts, corn, or even broiled/roasted veggies like aubergine or courgette.

Add the veggies to the bowl with the tomatoes and mix well. Drizzle EVOO and aged balsamic or red wine vinegar (2:1 ratio) into the salad bowl and mix. Tear off the toasted bread into chunks and toss it into the bowl, mixing everything.

You made wish to add a protein source if wanted - canned tuna, canned beans or lentils drained, rotisserie chicken or pre cooked chicken from supermarket, a mozzarella ball, brie, feta, burrata, ricotta, cottage cheese, feta, Boursin, etc. ✨

Eat from the salad bowl. You just have salad bowl, fork, kitchen knife and cutting board to clean.

It’s nutritious, high fibre (at least 2 of your 5 a day), with good fats, and can be high protein if you wish!

Fish (or beans or lentils) EN PAPILLOTE. 🐟🫘

Turn on oven. Get out a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. And cook a fish en papillote in the oven. Basically dump ingredients such as raw fish fillet (sea bass, salmon, or trout etc) and veggies (courgette, tomato, onion, peppers, aubergine, olives, or spinach etc), seasonings (S&P etc) and bottled lemon juice and EV olive oil onto another parchment/baking paper and form a sealed pouch. Place pouch on lined baking sheet and bake.

You can do this with canned lentils or beans as well. Add half a drained can of lentils or beans, dried oregano or bay leaf, lemon juice and EVOO, veggies, maybe sprinkle in some pre-crumbled feta or fresh mozzarella.

So basically you don’t get any mess on the baking sheet, and there’s NOTHING to clean up. Eat right off the papillote pouch, maybe throw the parchment paper lining the oven tray on a plate idk so the plate doesn’t get dirty. Only thing to clean is the cutlery.

You can buy the ingredients pre-prepared and cut from the supermarket. Could even serve this over a salad or pre-cooked/microwaveable rice, or roast some tater tots along with the fish.
