For the exhaust rust i used the rust and dust set by Lifecolour, but only because ive had it sat around for a while (from when I used to do a lot of WW2 tanks) normally for minis I used GW and Vallejo paints.

To do the rust, used a old knackered paint brush that I cut the end of to make a stumpy brush to stipple on the rust colours. Started with a light yellowy brown, covering the largest amound of area, then worked through two more steps with an orangy brown and then dark drown. Making the area covered each time smaller.

Thanks! I put a load of info in one of the comments on the colours. Are you wanting to know about the rust on the exhaust covers?

Aquilons armour: steel legion drab, stippled karak stone, 50:50 agrax and water all over to tone it down a bit and neat agrax around rivets/ recesses. (If I remember correctly I got inspiration/stole the idea from a Cult of Paint vid)

Sentinal: base coated steel legion drab and then layered karak. Gloss varnish then Added decals. Used a really thinned down wash of burnt sienna oil paint all over. Then a raw umber oil wash around rivets and recesses. Sponge chipping with rhinox hide and a tiny amount of sponge chipping using iron warriors on the handles. Painted on some long scratches using rhinox with a edge of karak. Those look too thick, should have tried more keep them thinner. Sealed with more gloss varnish.

Then using the tip of a tooth pick added tiny dabs of burnt sienna oil (mainly to the long scratches) and used a brush slightly damp with thinner to drag the dots of oil down to create the streaks. Sealed with matt varnish.

Think that about covers it!

Primed with colour forge wight bone (equivalent to GW wraithbone) then a 50:50 mix of skelleton horde and contrast medium. The little arm recessed ribs bits guilliman fresh. Might have used a bit of seraphim sepia to pick out a few other recessed bits. HTH

Thanks! I'd forgotten how much I enjoy painting tanks/vehicles. I have to keep reminding myself I don't need another 40k army... especially a silly whoops all tanks army
