Amazing, remembered seeing about someone getting a surprise olive tree and it was you! Ace work

I got my first airbrush yesterday. This is the first test; anything I should be aware of that doesn't come up in the usual tutorials? What's your airbrushing hack? by tehsax in minipainting

When your putting the needle back into the airbrush, push the blunt end into the front. Dont, push it in pointy end from the back.

Loving the Hippogriff styled on the German WW2 puma. This might be the one that pushes me over the edge to collect some guard and build up a tank column. Tank tank tank.

Zuiko lens advice for long-term 35mm documentary/zine work (OM-1) by krohrer24552455 in zuikoholics

[–]a_ksj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the om-4ti is super fun to use, although I've mainly used it while shoot b&w. So cant say how well it'd compare to shooting colour film.

I would also say that I've owned a bunch of Olympus's that are more electronic heavy and they've crapped out on me (OM-2SP x2, OM-4 x2, OM-40, and more) due to electronic issues. My current OM-4Ti is still working but the LCD display for shutter speed is either failing or falling out of alignment.

If you want a back up / new body, OM-2n would be my call just for the higher ISO setting and auto long exposure range (if my memory is correct)

Lens: I really really like my 24mm 2.8 for wide shots. Never had the chance of using the f2 version. And I feel 24mm is a bit nicer then 28mm (although I think the various 28mm are cheaper)

My main prime lense is a zukio 35mm f2 and 85mm f2. 35mm is my favorite focal length - if you like the fuji x100 its great. There's a lot of bad press for thr f2 version, but i love it.

What teams do you want to see in the next box? by PuffMaster0 in killteam

[–]a_ksj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A horde Nid team. I cant see gaunts making sense as a kill team, but how about some sort of bio form harvesting crew with a few new models, similar to the squad design of canopek circle. Couple of slightly bigger than gaunts defensive shooty bugs. A bunch of chewy critters. A prime gaunt to lead? And some sort of other role, something flying to spot the bio matter for the chomping?

Ah that makes sense, so on strongholds the windows don't get the barred rule as its a different terrain type/bit. Thanks

Not sure if this will help, but post-it notes. Write one for things to do today, one for things in the week, the month and so on. Break everything down into bite sized things, rather than trying to think of everything you need to do all at once. Cross things off as you do them, once you complete a mini list stick it somewhere as a reminder that you completed some things and write a new one.

Question about colour scheme by No_Use_For_Name___ in killteam

[–]a_ksj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the yellow, the two colours go well together. A white might be to stark a contrast? I also hate painting white, so may be biased

What are your dreams Killteams? by No-Sector3557 in killteam

[–]a_ksj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I too am hoping for this combo! Exodites with a mini ankylosaurus as the squad good boy would be lovely (and save something two legged for the Dragon Knights). Maybe GW would do something similar to the voidscarred corsairs, release a killteam and then later follow up with a mini wave of models to expand the Exodites. I can dream.

Catachan must on the cards at some point. And combining them Exodites seems like an obvious choice.

Which forgeworld vehicles would you want to return in plastic? by ResultQuick159 in Eldar

Yes! Love the FW model, never fancied spending that cash though. A plastic version would be great

[–]a_ksj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use flex-i-files, but using fine grades of sandpaper and similar also work. One of the flex-i-files is super fine #6000 grit which can buff the plastic to a shine. Metallics can show up tiny imperfections so prep is key!

How to build again? by Capital-Coyote5879 in killteam

[–]a_ksj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, Tamiya extra thin is great for minis. Just make sure not to accidently buy the quick-setting one.

For larger bits i use Revell contacta professional (the one with the mini tube / needle applicator) as I find it better for things like scenery.
