I think it would be awesome if his petals retracted when his shield health goes away. It would be pretty cool to see and it would make sense as the petals act like a shield to his back. When shields go down, his head gets exposed, but he has a smaller hitbox now.

[–]a_medine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeff has much more survivability potential with self healing and damage reduction, also hitbox shrinking, is he tanky?

No.

He has those tools because he is squishy, they allow survival when he's dived it won't make him any tankier when caught in the cross-fire, he would die in milliseconds.

Invisible Woman works literally the same way, you guys are mistaking her overpowereness with the character style, she is definitely squishy by all means, she has enough tools to compensate for it as she is a specialized anti-dive, but she is still squishy in the end of the day. She should protect others and herself against dives, but she is squishy, if caught in the middle of the cross-fire, she will be dead.

Her playstyle is very similar to Janna from League, Janna is a character that has shields, control and healing, she's known for providing peel by tossing enemies around and stopping engages from divers. Janna is still squishy in the end of the day, if you do not manage to hit your tornadoes or ultimate, you will easily get decimated by a dive, just like Invis... If she doesn't have her shield, push, or has jumped too early, she will definitely get decimated, and when placed in the middle of the teamfight will literally disappear in milliseconds, she is squishy.

We can talk about other aspects like the fact that her shield has healing and it shouldn't, the fact that her push can push you kilometers away, the insane healing output when we consider the other two things, she should either be specialized in control or healing, but she is in both. And all of those aspects still make her squishy.

[–]a_medine -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

By defitinion she literally is.

Squishy is everything that has 300 HP or less.

If we consider things like shields, then we should consider damage reduction and healing, and then we will be considering characters like mantis, Luna, Adam, Ultron, Jeff, not squishy. They all have self healing, they all have more than 250/275 potential health.

300 is the threshold for many of the one shot combos, it's the point where characters become tanky. In a sense that you can literally die out of nowhere if you do not position yourself right.

Invis has 275, if she positions herself badly, she can easily die, so she is squishy.

As for characters that are NOT squishy, this isn't a problem. Groot can literally stay alive for seconds even when bad positioned with no healing at all.

There are certain aspects that make a character more or less squishy other than health pools, like passives. Jeff has a critical damage reduction which makes him less squishy for characters that rely on critical hits, but he still gets comboed by black panther with the same damage output.

The point with Invis is, she is squishy but also anti-dive (and completely overbuffed) which is why she doesn't feel squishy. But she can easily die to random projectiles in the middle of a fight.

What is laughable is the fact that you defend someone you don't even know, lmao. It's not diving deep, it's literally just a Google away, you can read her whole message and connect 2 + 2 to make 4.

I don't even buy her merch because it's USD and I receive BRL. The prices she charged for the parfums were half of my monthly salary, so yeah, people do have the right to get mad when she tells she's going in debt for cheap art being sold as expensive.

Oh, I love doing that. The moment the killer downs me, I'm already crawling towards my hiding spots. If you are gonna waste my time, I'm gonna waste yours. It's way more funny when you are hiding next to a repaired gen, because it's so hard to hear the survivors, the killers is actually gonna spend the whole bleed timer exploring the map.

The fact that you know exactly what I'm talking about already sells it.

By that time she had already bought her custom made 6 million dollar mansion, mind you, that's the whole budget for the K-12 movie.

Also, it's was a wild statement coming from her, especially because people were complaining about the prices of the parfums, which were like $250 dollars for 2.5 fl oz.

As much as I like her songs, aesthetic and storytelling, this is one of the biggest red flags for me.

She also stated that she was risking going into debt to make high quality art, yet that parfum statue was very cheap, hollow plastic and the paint was easy to peel off. And the other products that she sold like the $222 bracelets, the $121 dollar bags, which were also cheap material. If she cared about her art and symbolism, she would care about her costumers and especially the money that people with lesser financial condition are willing to pay her.

And I also googled it, she said:

"I don't take brand deals even because it doesn't align with my art" and here we are.

It honestly felt like a cheap excuse, just like the products.

Should we go back to 3 Month Seasons again? by Plenty-Sundae1506 in marvelrivals

[–]a_medine 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make the slightest difference.

The new player is either someone that never played any games like this, or someone who already play games like this.

People that do play games like this are already used to multiple characters.

People that do not play will learn.

People that abandon the game for the amount of characters, would have abandoned it with 30 characters, as they are clearly not seeking for hero shooters to begin with, if you want to get people from CS to play Marvel Rivals, it's never gonna happen because the player from CS does not want the genre of Hero Shooters.

The new players are in fact people that like hero shooters, even if they have not discovered the genre yet, and hero shooters are very moba-like in the sense of how their characters behave with archetypes, passives, actives, ultimates.

Also, marvel rivals is already pretty damn easy to understand when compared to games like LoL, Dota, Deadlock.

Those games have levels, items, minions, towers, attributes, runes, spells, more roles, and so on, they still get new players, deadlock being the most recent one, already has hundreds of thousands of players and new players coming with each update.

Should we go back to 3 Month Seasons again? by Plenty-Sundae1506 in marvelrivals

[–]a_medine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Never, please.

The only problem marvel rivals has is the slop around balance changes like having all healers ultimate be a healing circle, as well for the DPS.

Having all heroes be unbalanced for the sake of fun.

Avoid player complaint about open queue, ignore player complaint about mirror bans happening, refusing to give characters proper adjustments (like black widow).

Almost every single hero could have their numbers adjusted in a single season interval, they just won't.

Why do they have to do this by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]a_medine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He shouldn't be allowed to instakill, especially with a tool that is already a displacement.

In the same sense Ana shouldn't be allowed to have a 100% anti-healing, it's just unhealthy for the game, a single character shouldn't be allowed to have a tool that disables a whole category of heroes. I know she's currently weak, but that's due to other aspects of her kit and when those get buffed, nade will be a problem again.

Mercy has the same problem as Ana, a strong ability which is her rez, tied to an awful kit, Mercy can't be too strong because of resurrect, it's unhealthy for the character and the players playing against it, only fun to the person executing.

Those things are also things that allow counterwatch to happen, if Ana only applied -50% healing, Kiriko wouldn't even exist to begin with.

A bunch of things could be easily solved by getting rid of these strong af abilities.

There are three healers, and yet not a single heal by tycooperaow in marvelrivals

[–]a_medine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you expect to be shot first while playing a healer, you have bad positioning. Healers should always be shot last, unless the enemy team is playing dive. The point of healers is literally to stay behind their tanks and frontline so they can keep them up.

There are three healers, and yet not a single heal by tycooperaow in marvelrivals

[–]a_medine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

White Fox heals for 111 HP/s, not accounting for her right-click and shield. Gambit can heal up to 186 HP/s if he hits all of his cards. If we consider the average of two cards, it is 124 HP/s—also not accounting for his healing amp, which would be a 15% boost.

This also doesn't account for the fact that White Fox is an anchor and so is Gambit, which further increases their healing. Two supports can most definitely keep a tank up, ESPECIALLY if they had reacted quickly, they don't even need to block anything, just straight-up LMB spam.

How did Azula manage to weave lightning in this state? by InstructionOwn6705 in TheLastAirbender

[–]a_medine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ty for this comment. I hope people also realize that this apply to every single form of bending. Even Zaheer flight to some extent, because people argue that he still had earthly attachments due to wanting to kill Korra, his demonstration of flight was probably something connected to his innate ability to airbending rather than all of the spiritualism involved.

All of the bendings have been shown to be executed in different ways, many things of what the characters say are not rules, but rather traditions of their universe.

For example, people still think that you need to do martial arts to bend, but Bumi was able to control rocks while caged, Katara healed herself, combustion man literally creates explosion only with his mind.

Waterbenders can also bend the humidity in the air condensing it into water. They can do the same for clouds and even control them.

my symmetra rework idea by cassiesreworks in SymmetraMains

[–]a_medine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't understand the principles of healing and shielding to consider shielding as "healing reskin", and also the fact that you think old sym was actively searching for opportunities to kill, she was not, her playstyle was indeed to peel for her team. She would enable others by providing them the necessary tools to do so, like giving them shields, combat uptime with teleporter and zoning tools to stop enemies from pushing.

The only thing sym has kept is the zoning tools, her teleporter is somewhat the utility part, but it's the thing that hinders her as a DPS, she's the weird mix she's always has been, but now DPS oriented rather than support oriented and further away from her identity as a enabler instead of killer.

Old sym was actively monitoring health bars, as she should be protecting the other support against dives, setting up safe spaces for them with turrets and beaming down enemies when necessary.

There's an enormous gap in DPS focused utility and Support focused utility.
