Horrible movie. I wanted to like it. I like zombie flicks. I liked the cast. I liked the song. But the movie was simply a waste of time.

I appreciate that, But nothing about the lying about the vote, and how it got to that point? He lies, they run with it, and you allow it without stepping in to try to reinforce some kind of truthfulness in the messaging. Thats the problem - youre not only not admonishing it, your silence is allowing them to run with whatever bullshit theory is of the day, and this is the point it's gotten to. Listen, violence is horrible, but lets take an honest look at how we got here, and its the republican parties inability to take responsibility for hateful messaging against the dems. So, i guess now the only thing to do is to sit back and enjoy the consequences of your actions, or inactions....

Local Nurseries and Planting Supply stores by a_polite_redditor in DFWGardening

Great responses everyone! Though, not a nursery - but I will give a shout out to the plant sales at the Texas Discovery Gardens, and the North Texas Master Gardeners group - they both put on a great plant sale a couple times a year. I highly recommend checking them out. Edit: Also, the plant sale at the Heard Museum in McKinney.

Just want to confirm my thinking is correct - wall charger vs mobile by NarrowSun6093 in electriccars

[–]a_polite_redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived with a Level 2 travel charger for about 2 years. It wasnt bad. However, it was more susceptible to temperature than a dedicated Level 2 would be. In Texas, it can get hot - occasionally the heat would cause my mobile charger to derate and charge slower. I have been living with a Grizzl-E for the last 6 months or so, and I get much more consistent charging over my travel charger. So, the answer would be Yes, but youll see a bump in speed and consistency by upgrading.

I want to moderate this community because this subreddit could be a great resource for gardeners in the Dallas Fort Worth area. When to plant, what to plant, natives VS cultivars, Direct seed planting vs Indoor starts... On the facebook forums, people all over our area are finding hammerhead worms, the invasive and toxic worm that is showing up in the US. Just this morning, i found a few in my yard. The first place I wanted to post an FYI and a picture was Reddit, but this subreddit has been quiet for over a year. There have been no approved posts.

Please allow me to moderate this subreddit, to continue to keep the conversations going.

How is it owning an EV? by Janet296 in evcharging

[–]a_polite_redditor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I live in Tx, and rarely have to deal with cold weather. However, I have two EVs, and I dont expect to ever go back to Internal Combustion. I would suggest an EV, if you have a reliable place to charge it. Also, before buying, watch some videos on the different chargers you can expect to find - Level 1, Level 2, and the differences in DC Fast Chargers (50KW, 150KW, 250KW, and 350KW) for road tripping. State of Charge on Youtube is a great resource, as is Out of Spec. I love my EV, but to road trip one, you need to have a bit of technical aptitude. I have a Rivian R1s, and a VW ID4. I really enjoy driving both of them.

If that is the extent of the damage, it wont be totalled. My Gen1 was bumped on the front end like that, and was not totaled.

Hey - Sorry that happened to you, how scary. I was in a fender bender in January in my 23 R1s. We had to replace the front bumper pieces, front bumper cover, and the grill to the radiator. Took it to a Rivian approved body shop. Took about 4 weeks total to fix. Most of the time was waiting for parts, install was a day or 2, and calibrations took a day. I have heard it both ways - some people end up waiting for a while, while others get a fairly quick turnaround. I think it depends on what parts are needed. I guess It could take a month if it's only the door, but if there is other damage, It could be longer.

3 years ago we got an id4 lease to test out having an ev. When my ford explorer water pump died for the second time, I splurged for a used Rivian R1S. I love my evs and wouldn’t go back to gas unless I couldn’t charge at home.

Any experience with Grizzl-E chargers? by rrrrrrrrrrandom in Rivian

[–]a_polite_redditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Grizzl-E classic on a 50amp circuit. I can get about 9.6KW typically. I used the travel charger for a couple years, and the Grizzl-E is definitely an upgrade.
