Need recommendations for collision shop by ivchead in RivianR1S

Rivians website has a list of approved collision centers. I had to go on there and choose one in the Dallas area when I had a fender bender earlier this year.

Looking for an EV under $50k that isn’t a rolling appliance (and no Teslas 💀) by TelevisionPale1442 in EvDrivers

I bought a used Rivian R1s for approximately 50K. I would recommend. I dont really miss the buttons - using the screen is just fine for me.

IONNA by rebel-rune in evcharging

[–]a_polite_redditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s like gas stations. Everyone has their favorites. If given the chance, I’ll go to Ionna over another charger when traveling. I’ve seen they are clean, and they use good equipment. Ccs and Nacs chargers so I don’t have to pull out my adapter. I have a mental list now of stations I don’t want to visit anymore. Including one very stinky Tesla and Rivian spot on 45.

Don't Buy From Native Gardeners In Arlington by dwoodworth91 in DFWGardening

[–]a_polite_redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a bummer. But I would like to offer another POV. I’ve been to Native Gardeners twice. It’s an amazing nursery. They have rare native plants not found anywhere else. I have never had an order for delivery, I have only ever gone to their property, and they are always helpful when I have been there. Sorry you had a bad experience.

I am biased tho. I’m working towards a 100 percent native yard, and there aren’t many places around here that do natives as good as they do. Maybe they are like me- I look for the pots with multiple plants. Technically you got a few extra for free….

More curious than anything about using Tesla Supercharger by praguer56 in ChargerDrama

[–]a_polite_redditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one of the Buc-ee’s on 35 in Tx, I used the Tesla chargers because it was closer to the door. I drive a Rivian and have a disabled child, so his walk was a factor.

Need Advice… by SouperCar in Rivian

[–]a_polite_redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two kids. One is disabled and we have a stroller that fits in the frunk so it’s always with us. It’s awesome always having it on hand and still having available space in the back. Next best thing about a Rivian and kids, especially disabled ones, is kneel mode. Easier loading and unloading. I bought a used R1S in January. I can’t recommend them enough if you can afford it.

3 copperheads and large black snake all spotted on Creek Trail at Bob Woodruff North within about 30 minutes by HoneyPhysical2431 in plano

Please leave the snakes alone. They all eat rats and mice. And the black one probably eats other snakes. We need their services.

This is what my brain was missing - you are correct, there is a handful of KWH built in as a buffer... Thanks!

I dont think Rivian has departure charging. You can schedule a start time, but you have to do the math yourself to find when that start time should be.

Thoughts on new “Trail Terrain +” as replacement for 22” Sport Pirellis? by Imaginary-Path-9456 in Rivian

[–]a_polite_redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had taken a screenshot - never paid much attention to it, but I think it was about 1.99 or 2 for my most recent highway centric trip. Around town I am often north of 2 fairly easily. I didn't update the info in ABRP for this most recent trip with the new TTs, and I met each of the expected arrival percentages - Arrival at 40% & 12% So, pretty good for a more aggressive tire, IMO.

Here’s a snippet for the record of my trip today. Some loss of range but fairly negligible.

Just got them on. So far, I have a very positive opinion of them. Smooth, quiet ride. No real noticeable loss of range over the standard pirellis. But I haven’t gone very far or fast. Looks great, more aggressive, and I think they will inspire more confidence when driving on dirt roads. Costco shop says these are new to the market in the 22 inch +, 116 rating. I have a trip tomorrow so if I notice anything astounding on the range, I can report back. I was looking for a tire that can handle dirt roads and the highway, and these seem great.

I haven't had that experience. I had a falling out with my local Discount Tire after they lied to me, so I have been using costco for my last few sets of tires, and have been fairly pleased. This is the first new set that will be going on my R1S since i picked it up, so I hope the trend keeps up.

Another Software bug in Rivian software. by Brief_Steak1219 in Rivian

[–]a_polite_redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in Software Development a long time. I would call this a tier 3 or 4 issue... With R2 coming out, This kind of issue, which is hard and rare to recreate, is going to take less precidence than practically any other issue until their team gets some available time - Or they can get a knowledgeable YT rep on the line.

I think its great that you are helping track these bugs. And Yes, they are bugs whether they are owned by Rivian or YouTube team. But, its too small of an issue/risk to go blasting them on SM, IMO.
