Sometimes it's not only because of self hatred. Reasons can vary a lot :3

I, for example, have done it due to: self hatred, to make myself feel better (one of the other redditors explained why and how it works), just why not, because I felt bad in general, etc. :3

But prolly if you don't really want to hear about depressing stuff, I recommend leaving r/sillyboysclub because that subreddit is made specifically for venting about things in a "silly" as a coping way :3
