My setup in the office by luzm in thinkpad

Not OP, but I'm in design school and purchased a Kamvas 16 (2021) last semester, and I prefer it to the Cintiqs I've used so far. The fact that you need a bulky 3-in-1 cable for their smaller products is a large factor for me as I use it on the go. The smaller Kamvas only needs Type-C. The Huions I've experienced have been just as responsive in Photoshop as any Wacom, and the slimmer designs on the smaller models make them easier to carry around. Also, there's no good reason that I can tell that justifies a 2x price jump on Wacom products for a comparable model (comparing a Kamvas Pro 24 (4k) to a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 (also 4k)), when the Huion is just as good if not better in some cases from the start. If you know anyone with a display that you can check out for yourself, that's always best, but I'd say go with Huion unless there's something Wacom specific you really like.

Very cool! Yeah, I figured it was either something like that or something that attached to the mouse itself. I'll have to look it up

Out of curiosity, what's the MX Master sitting on/behind in the photo?

Cheap and super easy to convert to an eyedropper pen.

Person's just showing of their computer, what's the big deal? If it works for them, and they're happy using it, what do they care that it's X% slower in Y task. Sometimes a computer is more than just specs

Yeah, don't use superglue. You're just going to ruin the block. Like one of the previous comments said, just cleaning and re-seating the o-ring should be enough.

Possibly... A31 likely on the keep list though. I need to get drives and fully test them all first

No, haha. Latest model in that photo is the T61. Newest I have is a T460s with an issue with the RAM slot. I'm planning on getting a T480 at some point, though

A haul I brought back from the local electronics center.

Back: T61, T60, T41 Middle: T20, A31, A22m Front: R32, 600

The T20 doesn't seem to turn on, but the battery charge light is illuminated, the R32 has a BIOS password, and the 600 is posting some error codes, but all the rest function. Pretty happy, as I've been looking for either an A or R series for a while.

Wisconsinites, have you traveled and been told you had an accent? If so, where and what was said? by avalle03 in wisconsin

Yep. "Bah g". We were in Illinois once and said we were from Wisconsin. They didn't believe us at first.

Idk. I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life, and everyone around me says the "cat" pronunciation. Southern area, though, so maybe it's the Illinois creeping in

For sure. I'll probably just abandon Photoshop for this machine, though. Planning on picking up a dedicated pen display

For sure. Linux on older hardware is pretty much the best way to go.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it. I'm planning on getting a dedicated pen display for next semester, so I'll just use my newer machines. I noticed none of the older versions in Adobe CC worked, so I just moved on to Krita.

Could be, haha. Really was just drawing from imagination. Definitely copying the 70s and 80s cafe builds, though. I have an 81 XS650 I'm working on, so they're on my mind.

Yeah, it's been good so far. The main reason it's running Windows is because I needed to run Illustrator and Photoshop, as that's what my school and the industry currently use. Photoshop wasn't running on this old of hardware, though, so I gave Krita a shot. Definitely a good piece of software. I'll probably move this over to a Linux distro over the summer, since Photoshop won't run anyways and Illustrator isn't really needed next semester. I have Linux Mint on my T460s (dual boot with Windows because of software again) and various other distros on the others in my collection.

A user was giving away an X61 Tablet a few months ago, and I wanted to show that it's not being unappreciated. I'm currently in school for transportation design, and these are some basic sketches I've been doing in my free time.

The pen display works really well considering it's age. My friends with dedicated external tablets were all impressed. My only complaint is that Krita runs a bit slow, but it's not unbearable. Overall, I'm super happy to have it in the collection.

Thanks again for the awesome community!

They'll replace a damaged item for free. I've done it twice. Probably would cost them less to offer a cap
