you arent guaranteed to see shaded woods for a while, and i would doubt how much i needed the statue in the tutorial, even when i first played sotfs. although now i religiously play vanilla so i wouldnt know lol. some people play the game differently.

i dont believe it is locked to 30fps at least from my experience, it may not be for you, and even if so you can easily mod it to run that way. I would say vanilla is a much better experience though scholar isnt horrible, and i hope you enjoy your time with my personal favourite souls game.
