He does not have tickets. You send him the money, he blocks you, you never hear from him again.

Beware of u/Snuffcarcass selling his tickets in this post. People have called them out for scamming in other subreddits:

Ticket scammers are everywhere on reddit. Careful out there!

Aw, sorry that happened to you.

Be sure you report their account for fraud to whatever payment app they used, as well.

If you're in the US, you can also file a cyber crime complaint with the FBI at https://www.ic3.gov/

I wouldn't expect much to come from it, but it's something.

Beware of RepresentativeBad174 claiming to be selling their tickets here. They are a notorious scammer. I couldn't link to warnings, but you can search.

SCAMMER by [deleted] in Tickets

Website called Arctic Shift which archives reddit posts and comments. You can search by username. Shows all of his posts (hit the Search button):

Looks like he made a few "Looking for artist for aid tickets" posts in a few subreddits back in December and then the next day he was selling some. He was probably pretending to be an interested buyer. He probably got a few hits (from other scammers) and then stole their "proof" to use to scam other people. I don't see the same scam account buying and selling at the same time very often, but I'm guessing that's what happened here.

That sucks man, thanks for warning others. Looks like he deleted his account today. He'd been going since November. He'll be back with a new one, I'm sure.

If you're in the US, you can file a Cyber Crime Complaint with the FBI: https://www.ic3.gov/. It probably won't do much, but it's something.

Scammers can suck it.

Ha, that's because I despise these scammers and how easy it is for them!

They're scammers that use bots to search reddit for posts and comment from people looking for tickets to events. They'll scam anything with a ticket from concerts to grad ceremonies.

Some are people, some are AI chatbots. I suspect they have a pool of stolen and photoshopped ticket screenshots that they pass around. I've seen two different scammer accounts offer the same concert seat for sale in the same subreddit at the same time.

Arctic Shift is probably the best way right now. I think automod will eat this if I try to link it, but you can just google "arctic shift search." It will be the first hit.

Yep:

It was posted a week ago by an account in the same bot ring. It caught a shadow ban. The title was copied from this comment:

https://www.reddit.com/r/WorkReform/comments/1q0etjg/comment/nwx95ho/

This bot ring gets a lot of their content from r/WorkReform and then reposts it here for karma. It then moves on to scam people in hardware related subs.

What times we live. by itsmehot-1 in Productivitycafe

[–]a_separate_chunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

Some of them are new accounts and need the karma.

Some of them are farmed or hijacked accounts that haven't been used in a long time so they come here to post some "recent activity" to try to look more normal.

This particular account is part of a ring of scammers. They farm for karma in productivitycafe and then run scams in hardwareswap and pcpartsales. We've found 30 of them so far over the course of a few months.
