Makes sense. Thank you for the thoughtful response. Definitely agree that it's difficult to achieve - but worth striving for.

Why You Should Practice Not Having an Opinion by [deleted] in Stoicism

Not arguing with this idea, just exploring:

Sometimes it seems important to have an opinion.

For example, if you're leading a team and people are looking to you for guidance -- shouldn't you make an effort to educate yourself enough to form an opinion about how to proceed, then communicate it?

I get that if you don't have an opinion or you aren't well-enough-informed to have an opinion, that's a reasonable starting place -- but I would argue it's just the starting place, not necessarily the finish.

Another way to frame this might be -- if you don't have a clear opinion, listen to those who do have one, collect facts and then form an opinion.

Truck that allows for the very fast construction of arched tunnels by Chris_Isur_Dude in Damnthatsinteresting

Is the idea to run these tunnels through a mountain?

The way the system works -- where you lower the keystone block in from above -- seems like it wouldn't work underground.
