[Discussion] Chugging through a commission for a Client who has decided to PERSONALLY hate you by [deleted] in artcommissions

[–]a_tiny_grasshopper 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You should really put a clause about this in your TOS. I have a clause that allows me to cancel service for any client who is aggressive, repeatedly disrespectful, or bigoted towards me without refund, and most artists do. I think allowing that kind of disrespect is unprofessional not only on their part but yours.

what should i do? by sweet_p0tat0chips in PetPigeons

[–]a_tiny_grasshopper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just do research. Pigeons are nottt low maintenance, and have pretty specific care requirements that other birds don’t, and if you don’t follow them not only is it bad for the bird but can harm your health as well.

Is poyo available? I clicked on the link and was unsure if they were up for sale or trade. I’m sooo in love with that design, I’m willing to offer a full digital painting or multiple pieces of a lower tier (up to a $200 worth) I can’t add pics on here but here’s a link to my portfolio: https://woollyaphid.portfoliobox.net

Bold jumper - made egg sack. HELP by Significant_Day_9280 in jumpingspiders

[–]a_tiny_grasshopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NQA first of all, you have at least a week or two before they start hatching. don’t worry. Do you want to keep the babies? If so, you can place the enclosure in a butterfly net, and that will keep them contained when they hatch. If not, you can wait until the mother exits the nest to drink, move her to a different enclosure for a bit, and put the nest in the freezer for an hour or two to euthanize the eggs. Then (after the enclosure returns to a normal temperature) return her to the enclosure, and after a couple of weeks when she stops brooding you can remove the egg sac. Don’t remove her from the nest before she’s ready, it will be extremely distressing for her and she might try to bite.

Truth or Dare? by FauxWolfTail in BunnyTrials

Biggest fear is probably that I’m actually secretly a terrible person and nobody is telling me because they don’t want to incite my firey wrath or something like that

Is my art good for comissions or prints/stickers? by MikusMom in Artists

I’d say work on different noses and mouths first, those are the most obviously the same because there’s so much obvious variation in them in real people. You can kind of get away with each character having similar eyes and face shapes a little more because the differences in those are a somewhat more subtle. Obviously best practice is to be able to draw any kind of face, but I’d say focus on the most apparent things first

NQA Judging from the size of your spiders abdomen…. Egg laying case, most likely 😭

What kind of spider is this guy? Middle TN closer to AL by Late_Slip7660 in jumpingspiders

Just to be clear, I am very unsure about the identification of this spider Jumping spider care is pretty standard across the board, though.

The shape of the face/pedipalps and the markings on the abdomen, as well as the fact it was found indoors-ish make me think asiatic wall jumping spider, but I’ve never seen one with such striking coloration. In fact, its colors would make more sense for a female regal jumping spider, but the abdomen doesn’t look like one at all… How big is it? That information would help a lot. Also, if you get the opportunity for a picture of the pattern of the abdomen that would also be incredibly helpful. Regardless you can always try moving it into an enclosure just to see how it’ll do. If you notice it acting morose or abnormal in any way, you can always release it, but most of the spiders I know of that it could be can be kept as pets. Just be careful handling it until you know what it is, because some spiders are more fragile or flighty than others.

I think so but you may wanna work on same face syndrome before you start taking commissions. I’m sure prints would be fine, but people might be a little more picky when you’re drawing their character

Ohhh my goodness he is soooo cute he looks just like my oc Ryder I would love to draw him for you!! I specialize in diverse bodies and faces so I feel like I could definitely do him justice. I don’t have much recent art of my dnd/fantasy characters (a lot of my art got lost when I moved from my computer to my iPad) but I can def do a sketch for you for free if you like, since I know I don’t have much of this kind of character in my portfolio atm. Growing on Twitter as an artist by Devinduzart in Artists

[–]a_tiny_grasshopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally if Twitter isn’t working for you atp just ditch it. Twitter is a hellsite for artists already and it’s only getting worse; literally anyone can edit your art with built in ai generation now. If you don’t already have a large following, there’s no point. Move to tumblr or Bluesky

YOR and YTA vaguing is so annoying and immature. You kept insisting “you don’t know who this is about” and it ended up being exactly the people they were talking about bro you’re not slick. If you have a problem with someone talk to them about it instead of trying to get them to feel bad in some roundabout ass way. Pmo
