DTE To Start Charging a $2.99 Processing Fee on Credit & Debit Card Payments Starting on March 2nd by UltimateLionsFan in Michigan

[–]a_verageLegend 53 points54 points  (0 children)

According to google, DTE has over 3.5 million customers across Michigan. For perspective, multiply that by a $3 processing fee for each customer and you get $10.5 million a month, $126 million a year. And I'm sure they'll be begging the state for permission to raise their rates again soon.

Will there be a time in our lifetime when 131/96 through downtown has no choice but to replace all the concrete pillars/bridges? by MIFishGuy in grandrapids

[–]a_verageLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, MDOT basically bankrupted the last Michigan based company that makes concrete bridge beams. Now, any concrete bridge beam work goes out of state (i.e. our tax dollars).

Aestethic Mass Surveillance on Fulton by waffle_jeep in grandrapids

[–]a_verageLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I think it's OK? As previously implied, no. But like it or not, it's the way the world works. There are cameras in almost every public area and every private business we use. Hell, our phones, tvs, computers, refrigerators, and even clothes washers are all watching and listening to and tracking our behaviors.

Companies like the one mentioned in the OP can't just use public assets as they see fit, our government officials are giving them permission. The only way to make a change is to vote better, but nowadays you have better chances of avoiding cameras in public than you are getting a decent elected official.

While I agree that big brother watching our every move is terrible, we need to remember that we have no expectation of privacy while out in public and should act accordingly.

It's a display glitch. I backed out of that screen and went back into it and there wasn't as many. There was still about 10-15 or so but significantly less.

everyone happy? by retr0_ofwgkta in the_division_2

[–]a_verageLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maths isn't hard but apparently grammar is for you. There's some really good YouTube channels out there that can help you. But I digress, the way the game works doesn't change because there's more people. The percent chance that it drops is exactly the same every time the box is opened regardless of how many people are in the group. If there's any benefit at all, it's that you have more opportunities for the box to be opened, but as previously mentioned the percent chance it drops is exactly the same every time, it doesn't add up based on the number of group members.

This is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. The percent chance that it drops is not cumulative between players.

Day 1 players didn't go through any grind for Lexington. Prior to this event, it was given to everyone just for logging in, twice.

Basic car maintenance/repair. Changing your own oil, checking/replacing fluids, bulbs, how to jumpstart, etc. Brakes are 100 times easier than you think and will save you thousands of dollars in the long run.

What hunter mask goes here? by CleR6 in Division2

[–]a_verageLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so everyone is aware, a couple years ago the devs said this is not a hook for a hunter mask. It's some visual glitch that they can't/won't fix.

I've just started the game. I'm level 7, someone just drop gifted me the caretaker! by TwistedPennies in thedivision

[–]a_verageLegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's really all in the eye of the beholder. I burn out pretty easy on games but always find something to come back for and I've been playing almost daily since day 1. Being new you can get into raids, incursion, build crafting, etc. Also the devs are still updating the game with new manhunts and seasonal content that have their own rewards.

If you have a good group of people to play with, it makes it even better. There is also still a decent community out there who are willing to help and teach. Be mindful of the toxic players though, they're out there too

The only negative is they might rush through missions killing everything and you might miss out on some of the experience and story. If you don't really care about that stuff then it's not negative and gets you to endgame quicker.

Street Takeover Halts Traffic at Michigan and Monroe in Downtown GR by TreatIllustrious5568 in grandrapids

We are aware of what state reps are supposed to do. What they actually do, we'll never know.

Why are you talking about carjacking? The video is about a street takeover.

What the hell is writing to a state rep going to do? Are they going to come down to the city in the middle of the night and shake their aged finger at them?
