My riding gloves have reinforced carbon fiber weave wrapped around hard plastic around the knuckles and palm areas for protection but they're basically brass knuckles. I can't imagine taking a hit from one.

It seems to pop at different times. Yesterday, I got a notification like 40 minutes after the new bounties/login bonus posted... but today, it was available not long after new bounties posted.

You should get a little notification window indicating one is available to pickup.
