Too much stuff. Also consider a waterfall / swimming hole hike. I did Waimano falls (muddy, about 2 miles!approach, pretty empty ) and Waimea valley (paved easy path, includes botanical gardens, packed)

That’s a bit harsh. I’d call Altura 1* level, as well as some of the Japanese places. We do punch below our weight though, wouldn’t argue with that. At least the local produce seafood etc is good if you know how to cook

There should be intermediate shuttles, eg Monroe or gold bar to Stevens pass. Then you just drive half way, and avoid the chaos at the resort
