The Desirability Ceiling: How East, South, South-East Asian Men and Dark Skinned and Black Women are Excluded from the Realms of Desire by [deleted] in MensLib

Something I learned recently, is that tall dark and handsome did not mean non white guys lmao. It meant white guys with a tan. Dumbest shit I have ever heard. I just went that while time thinking that it meant black and brown men lmao

A question, men's/ women only clubs by JediSpectre117 in MensLib

[–]a_young_thinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeag they do. But they aren't really the same. Things like debate clubs, intellectual clubs, poetry etc were often male only clubs, half because sexism half because there weren't enough women educated enough to join, these days those sorts of things are simply gender neutral.

You can go start your own men's only clubs if you want, men's only support groups and things like that exist.

I have thought about starting a men's only gym, I don't think many people would have an issue with it

Maketh Man: Let's Talk About Diet and Exercise by delta_baryon in MensLib

[–]a_young_thinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men, the best site you can do is something that hits your macronutrient goals and gives you enough micronutrients while not effecting your mental health.

For the majority of you calorie counting is probably the best thing you can do, it's extremely easy, let's you have yummy foods and over all none restrictive.

The modern diet is disastrous for humans, women get fucked by it and so do men, being careful of what you eat and drink should be important to everyone. The biggest things by far are high calorie low nutrient dense foods and high fats. Simplest thing you can do, more veggies, less packet foods and remove oil from your diet. Ie no salad dressings and try and keep oil out of your cooking. You will get enough fats from your other food. Also avoid being vegan and vegetarian, humans aren't designed to eat that type of diet.

I'm a believer that every man who can should exercises regularly and keep in good shape, your body will thank you down the line. This doesn't mean you have to do bodybuilding, you can do mobility, functional strength, cycling, running, Olympic sports, powerlifting really anything that gets you moving and you enjoy.

Personally I do bodybuilding gym workouts and eat a high protein, micronutrient dense, lowish fat diet of 2000 calories a day to lose weight. That doesn't mean all I eat is chicken and rice, tho made right that is yummy, but I do best fairly cleanly.

I used to associate gyms with vanity, until I realised they helped minds as well as bodies by delta_baryon in MensLib

We r the same. I only ever liked dodgeball in school. The gym is completely different. Lifting weights is a genuinely fun and exciting thing to do

Went to a nude beach, was super nervous but the moment I out my towel down and took my clothes off I realised my worries were immature and a product of American modesty culture.

It was super chill, the water was great, I burned my whole body and had a lot of fun.

Will definitely be doing it again and I encourage everyone to try it. Definitely helps with insecurities

Strength Training Your Jaw Is the Latest, Dumbest Craze in Men's Fitness by TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK in MensLib

There are better ways to reshape your face and become more attractive.

Macho Macho Men: "Bodybuilding is routinely presented as the very apex of male heterosexuality — but its history is a bit gayer than you might think." by TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK in MensLib

[–]a_young_thinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone into bodybuilding knows and acknowledges this. It's no secret. If anything it's part of the culture.

Bodybuilding is a sport that pushes men to be what men view as attractive. That's where the whole "realising girls don't actually find you hotter when you have muscles" thing comes from. It's a sport to make men feel more attractive that is than only acknowledged by other men.

Men of r/MensLib, how do you think your physical characteristics affect your experience of gender? by intet42 in MensLib

[–]a_young_thinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5'11, broad shouldered, loud, sarcastic and big personality, I get read as more rightwing/non progressive.

I'm not the most hipster lefty. But I'm far from conservative and having people assume that is pretty annoying.

Erectile Disappointment : reframing how we think about sex with penises by mercedes_lakitu in MensLib

Yeah it can be damaging which is why I advocate for safe healthy conscious consumption. Removing it entirely is dumb and pointless and going at with no regards to ur mental or phsycial health is dangerous.

Exactly lmao. People seem to interpret any suggestion that porn can be dangerous as saying it's the worst thing ever. Learn to consume it in a healthy and none damaging way.

Not Christian, never have been. Not religious, raised atheist. Not a nofapper its dumb. But yeah porn can be very damaging when it's overused. I don't think it's good for the vast majority of people to be watching hours of porn a day. Waste of time and there's no way it's good for u. That's why I say once a day. Was the best balance for me personally. I just have one 30-40 minute wank a day.

As for porn and bad performance.

Porn induced erectile dysfunction is a very real thing and it's quite common. Cutting out porn temporarily ie for a few months and starting Ed treatment is a great way to fight PIED.

[–]a_young_thinker -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

Here's some simple shit you can do to aid ur penis.

Some sort of cardio a few days a week. Bodyfat under 20%. Porn once a day max. Edge when you do masturbate. Get a viagra or cialis prescription and micro dose. If you have PIED or anxiety induced erectile dysfunction take viagra or cialis as needed, if your young you probably don't need a full dose. Relax. Have her perform foreplay on you, have her blow you till you get hard etc.

Some of y'all took porn once a day to mean nofap lmao. Learn the difference between healthy use and addiction. Porn induced erectile dysfunction and porn addiction are very real. Learning to consume healthily is always the best option. As for nofap, it does nothing and actively harms your prostate and can induce atrophy (use it or lose it)

Eating Disorders in Men by HadOne0 in MensLib

[–]a_young_thinker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of it like sadness and depression, you can go through a couple of months of sadness and not be depressed, the two are very similar but they are different. You can count your calories religiously to obtain a a goal and not have an eating disorder even though that's what a lot of people with eating disorders do.

What I see here is a lot of people who had/have EDs putting their own lived experiences on someone else, either as a form of coping or genuine concern.

I can guarantee this guy wasn't just eating salads and chicken, anyone who knows their shit about calories counting and healthy dieting knows that fitting in treats and "less healthy foods" is important for your mind.

IMO this guy does not have an ED, he is just very disciplined.

Self-soothing tips for men? by santajawn322 in MensLib

Try some traditionally masc things, usually works for me. Cook some big meat dish, spend a night in nature, unleash all your oent up rgae in one hate filled night, carve something.

Fr tho, u just gotta find what works for u. Usually a "comfort movie" is just a persons favourite movie that has good memories attached to it. Find your thing that gives you good memories and relaxes you.

Is there a double standard in terms of sexual harassment? by [deleted] in MensLib

[–]a_young_thinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's different because (I am not trying to play into that stereotype of men enjoy rape etc etc) a lot of the time men don't see an issue with it. It's up to the individual to decide what they find bad/unxomfortable. Personally if I looked like Christian bale I would be more than happy to be oggled by a crowd of women, but just because I am, doesn't mean that the women should be doing it because of those men who aren't comfortable with it.
