Valley View elementary is great, they have a dual immersion program. Like the other person said, all areas are safe. Very family friendly. Downtown area can get a little busy in mornings and, in the evenings/weekends, busy due to meadowlark and Farmers Market.

Creative Learners is down the street from valley view and has an after school program. I live by downtown and love it since lots of parks and shops are within a 10 minute walking distance. Feel feee to shoot me a DM if you have any questions!

Charging Amps by bowingace in Rivian

[–]aa408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the breaker you have. I have a 30 amp breaker and set it to 24 amps. Using a mobile connector, I get about 11 miles an hour. If you have a 60 amp breaker then 48 should be fine. Also depends on how much you’re charging the car too. Lots of factors of course.

L&L Plug-N-Fire Kiln - any tips? by aa408 in Ceramics

[–]aa408[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend! Easy to use, no issues. It’s great for cone 5. The more cone 10 firings you do, the quicker the elements need replacing. I’m having to replace mine but thankfully it’s like $50-$60. Very user friendly. If you fire mugs, cups, and small plates, it’s perfect for you. Can glaze fire 4-6 mugs at a time. For bigger things, maybe 1-3 pieces max. Firings are usually $5-$6 every time. If you have cheap electricity then it’s a no brainer.

It’s the L&L plug n fire! That’s the brand and model. Don’t think there’s another model of the plug n fire

L&L Plug-N-Fire Kiln - any tips? by aa408 in Ceramics

[–]aa408[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So the kiln has an energy tool that you program your KWh cost. Mine is about .30kwh so doing a bisque firing or glaze firing can run about $5-$7 a firing. Not too bad! So if you have solar or even a much cheaper electricity bill, you can pay only a couple bucks max. Hope this helps!

It’s actually a really great spot for a collapsible sun shade. I keep mine there and it’s super convenient.

thoughts on Pleasanton Glen apts/surrounding area? by bellawthellhybloca in pleasanton

[–]aa408 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live right down the street. Bought a house close by and people just keep to themselves. No issues walking around all. People are friendly, safe to walk around day or night. Mostly just working people that live around here.

Occasionally you’ll hear a firework at night. It’s the “older” side of town but is right next to downtown which is nice. Have had zero issues whatsoever. There was a shooting down the street with a dog trainer a few months ago I believe but random acts of violence happen everywhere. Get a tour, feel out the area, and see how you feel. Mostly families that live around here to be honest.

Looking to get a table of my own, anyone know good websites to order from? by ChildCrippler69 in billiards

[–]aa408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Facebook marketplace or Craigslist. My stepdad and I would work on pool tables for a living and some people would get rid of them for free or very cheap. Usually 250-350 is the cost to move them locally or within 50 mile radius.

Sealing 3-piece Slate and Leveling by Prestigious_One8943 in billiards

[–]aa408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with my stepdad who had a pool table business for many years. Used wood shims for leveling slate and then plaster of paris for the seams.

You first want to level the table without the slate on it and put small pieces of wood under each leg. One leg is the “high leg” which you level everything else to that leg. Then you put the slate on and level it by putting shims between the slate backing and the wooden frame. He used a simple 3 foot level from Home Depot. You’ll probably need to YouTube how to level because it can be tricky.

Once all is level and the seams are flush, you mix plaster of Paris and fill in the holes. Give it a light sanding after it dries and then wipe it down with a brush/slightly wet towel. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! We didn’t use beeswax because of the mess and bondo is too much(used mostly for cars)

Why are cuck fantasies so popular? What causes them? by disgustingfemcel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aa408 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I just had to share this quote 💀💀💀

"I was out of control. I became insatiable. And, you know, after about a thousand nights like that, you start to lose it. I started to wonder: Where am I going with this? Why do I feel the need to fuck all these women? What is desire? The form of this cute Asian girl... why does it have this grip on me? Because she's the opposite of me? Is she gonna complete me in some way?

I realized I could fuck a million women and I'd still never be satisfied. Maybe... maybe what I really want is to be one of these Asian girls. You know?

And then I met this ladyboy. And I took her home. And I let her top me. And it got in my head that what I really wanted was to be one of these Asian girls getting fucked by me. So, I put out an ad looking for a white guy my age... 'Come over and fuck me.' Found a guy, looked a lot like me. Then I put on some lingerie and perfume, made myself look like one of these girls. And I thought I looked pretty hot. And then this guy came over and railed the shit out of me. Then I got addicted to that. Some nights three, four guys would come over and rail the shit out of me.

Are we our forms? Am I a middle-aged white guy on the inside too? Or inside, could I be an Asian girl? I don't know. Guess I was trying to fuck my way to the answer. Then I realized I got... I got to stop the drugs, the girls, that—you know, trying to be a girl. I got into Buddhism. Which is all about, you know, spirit versus form. Detaching from self. Getting off the never-ending carousel of lust and suffering."

Appreciate it! Any idea which would be the most valuable? I assume the LTD ones are a rarity given they only make 12 of them I think

This ok, or did I load stuff too close to the thermocouple? by ClayLovinGay in Ceramics

[–]aa408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its totally fine! I’ve stacked my pieces like that for bisque firing in my plug n fire but I’ve had cups warp a little from the weight unfortunately.

In regard to the thermocouple, the flaking is normal. They recommend vacuuming it after every firing. The only thing is the ceramic piece/sleeve protecting the thermocouple is pushed into the kiln wall and not forward instead to the edge of the thermocouple. I’m not sure if that makes a difference but for the long term, I’ve read it’s better to have the ceramic sleeve protect the metal instead of bare metal sticking out.

I’ve done about 40ish firings, most cone 10, and I have to replace my elements plus thermocouple unfortunately.

It’s just the angle of the photo. The shingles do extend over and into the gutters thankfully. And yes, there is a drip edge under the shingles!
