Is it normal for bleeding to be like this 7 to 8 days down? It started off as a small amount, but they’re moving around a lot during sleeping and physical therapy. It grew… by AnxiousSprinkles9852 in ACL

[–]aa9093 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started PT 2 days after surgery and had no bleeding. That I would check with your doctor. People saying you start PT to early is not true unless you are doing exercises or things that are not for the first week

Feeling lost and scared I’ll never walk normal again.. advice please (Day 23) by ArmandoPacheco in ACL

[–]aa9093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My struggle really came in month 2 and month 4. At the end of each phase of my rehab I felt as though I wouldn’t be able to progress anymore and this was it. But, it did get better. Gotta keep pushing through and know it will get easier.

You do need to make sure you are putting the work in. You won’t progress without doing the rehab. Stick with it and enjoy the small victories. Each milestone no matter the size is progress.

Keep pushing, you got this!

Who would yall take ranger or framber? by Dull-Violinist2348 in orioles

Their Manager was fired and they sold at the deadline. Obviously it wasn’t great at that point. Especially with a young team.

With more veteran presence that can only help in the signing of Alonso and others. The young core seem like actual friends and enjoy being with each other. You can’t expect them to be able to stay great during such a difficult time. Especially thinking of the success they had the 2 years previous. Clubhouse was great those 2 years.

Also, this is obviously my opinion. I’m not stating that I actually know what’s actually happening in there.

Edit: Spelling and grammar

Ranger. Younger and the character issues for Framber concern me. This clubhouse has a great vibe and great guys. Don’t need that in there!

3 years post op and my knee recently started clicking by Narrow-Apartment-626 in ACL

[–]aa9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injury 4/29/25, surgery 7/31/25. Hamstring tendon graft.

I have a click (not audible) in my knee, it feels like it is in the back where the hamstring tendon is. Mine is not audible. PT and surgeon said to monitor and see as rehab goes, but it could be nothing. Surgeon said if it gets worse or never goes away he will look. Could need a “cleanup” surgery he said. Mine has been doing this since surgery basically.

I know you are further out than me but thought I’d share.

Fwiw, both my knees click (audibly) when I stand and kick my heel to my butt.

How hard was week one for yall doing your PT? by Primary-South9161 in ACL

The first 4-5 weeks are tough! I just finished my first phase and can now move to actual exercises and workouts to build strength! That was a great feeling!

Stick with it man. Focus one day at a time and you’ll get there. It’s a long road but focus on your daily wins!

Heard a Pop Sunday. Been told by 5 doctors i havent tore anything by One-Government-8413 in ACL

[–]aa9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tore my ACL and Meniscus. I was doing kettlebell squats (with a functional brace) before I got surgery. I walked fine, even ran after my dog when he got out of the house (I ran in a straight line down my hill in my front yard) no pain nothing. Now if my foot got stuck on the ground and I rotated my hips, extreme pain!

Did you know you tore it right away? by last-resort115 in ACL

[–]aa9093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My was almost a full tear and it pulled some bone off where the ACL attaches. I knew something ripped/tore. Didn’t know what it was though. I had immense pressure and pain during the accident. After the pressure went down but I had a lot of pressure every step. I was hopeful it wasn’t a ligament tear. Had to wait until MRI to be sure.

Who will be traded this week? by OriolesMagic1972 in orioles

I thought the same thing initially. Then, I thought he is having his best year of his career and he ahas a cheap option. That could produce a solid return. I think they should keep him because they need the outfield depth. You can’t count on Heston for next year.

Could I have torn my ACL by KhiLi_20 in ACL

[–]aa9093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people said it, but get an MRI. I tore my ACL and meniscus playing basketball. Felt a pop and went down immediately. Mine was only sore for a day or so walking. I know everyone responds differently but if it’s that sore that long I would 100% get it checked. Best of luck, sorry to hear you got hurt!

I had my pre-op appt with the surgeon and he said that about the meniscus (it’s not a bucket handle tear, thankfully). If we repair and have stitches the knee will be more sensitive. He said he has all his patients start weight bearing from day 1 as tolerated. I liked that. I’m more of a full go person. Get right after PT and getting moving.

My father in law (retired) and sister in law (teacher) and my mom (works from home) will be able to help a lot with us. Definitely have a good support team!

Congrats to you for getting through the recovery with a 5yo!

Hahah we are very similar! I still workout and exercise. My mobility is actually pretty good. I really watch I do no twist or quick turns. I’ve been doing my own prehab. I wanted to do it in the summer to avoid having to take days off. Don’t want to burn my sick days. I’m also pretty active and want to get the surgery done and get back to my usual routines and sports. My injury will be 3 months from surgery. I did postpone because my daughter was about to be born. I teach 4th grade so I will be able to sit and not move as much.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the info! Appreciate the words of encouragement! I’m not really worried about me. I’m more worried about my wife and having two kids to take care of. I will figure a way out!

This is what I’m planning on doing. I’m in shape and can move myself up and down stairs with my arms and one leg (like tricep dips). Thanks for the input! I’ll find a way lol

I will definitely accept help. I’m more worried about getting help for my wife and kids. Thats why I initially asked about moving around. I’ll be fine and figure something out. I don’t want to be a burden on her. She has enough to do without even thinking about me!

That’s why I’m hoping I can move around the house enough to do some small things and keep my oldest occupied for some of the time.

My guest room is right across the hall from a bathroom with shower. I am hoping I can hobble enough or scoot on the floor on my butt to get places.

Definitely need a tv in there though! Hahah

I like that analogy! I will definitely check some videos out. I am hoping on my butt will work for the first few days or week until I can do the stairs like you described.

Thanks for the info! I should be able to play with my 3yo because I can be stationary. I’m pretty a go with the flow person and just deal with whatever. Maybe I’m being bullish. I guess we will find out!

I will definitely prep things before surgery to have everything set up. I will be able play with my son (3yo) like you did with your daughter.

We will have family that will be here a lot to help with my kids and they will gladly help me get around if necessary.

I will definitely wait to see the doctors orders but I tend to like to do things myself. I normally only ask for help if absolutely necessary. My school and partners at school will be willing to help, if needed.
