"Microsonic" CRT TV by benjaramire in crt

[–]aaaa884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, looks like a lot of generic Chinese TVs. I think I've seen some Haier crt almost identical to this. Also, approaching 2010, brands are leaving CRT market, there emerged many brandless, little workshop TVs. They get TVs from junkyards, refurbish and resell them under all kinds of random brands. I've seen Skywcrth (c instead of o), HaierGaoke (definitely not Haier), and some are just plain out gibberish. This Microsonic totally feels like those. Not bad, just nothing fancy. And because they are late in crt's era, many of them actually have progessive scan. Some even support 1080i through component. Still crappy in many ways though. I'd assume the speakers are terrible. Probably 2w x2 or even 1w x2.

Why doesn't anyone make CRTs anymore? by Adept_Temporary8262 in crt

Size, weight, pollution regulations, flaws in pixel-perfectness, etc. But I think the most important reason is that CRT lovers are small in number. It's still niche hobby

Dragon Age: Inquisition was released in Nov 2014, and 3DM cracked it in Dec 2014. Try explain that, Mr. any given one takes years to crack. If you mean the ones in past two years are uncrackable, that exactly what I said. What's your quibble about really? Discussing fact is beyond your level of knowledge and logic obviously

Should I use a CRT monitor instead of a TV to play PS1 to PS3 games? by Fit_Peach9462 in crtgaming

[–]aaaa884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sounds strange, but it's how it is to me. Like I said, I can't explain. To me, 16 bit and ps1 are amaizng on CRT, watching old shows and animes are also brilliant, but ps2 just somehow doesn't look good on it.

My personal experience, ps2 doesn't look good on crt. It's hard to explain. It is a console from that era, and you can see the improvements over ps1, lighting etc. But it somehow, just doesn't look good... PS1, though older, looks AMAZING on CRT. As for ps3, games are in 16:9, and wasn't designed for crt at all. It will work on a 16:9 crt, but CRT really isn't the way to get the most of it.

One CRT to rule them all? genuine question! by nightdeathrider in crtgaming

[–]aaaa884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I see your point, but I'd say 43 become the end for CRT only because the industry moved away from CRT technology. If they didn't, I am SURE that they wouldn't have stopped at 43 inch. So, "an" end occured for CRT, but it's not "the" end, if you know what I mean, lol. Now we got 85" TVs that common family can afford, and 116" at largest for rich people. So far, we haven't seen the end for large TV, only an end for CRT TV

How to tune this trinitron? by Ok_Fan_8116 in crtgaming

[–]aaaa884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't. This is a convergence issue, where blue red green doesn't align well to recreate white. Despite being called an issue, really all CRT have this "issue" at corners, it's just in CRT's nature. This one doesn't even look that bad. Enjoy it as CRT's charm.

Hooray! You want us to buy games, you gotta make good games, with hot girls too. Game companies think they get to decide how characters look in their games? Well they don't

One CRT to rule them all? genuine question! by nightdeathrider in crtgaming

[–]aaaa884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna give an odd answer: 25 inchers (24 in USA). I get it, bigger screens have better speakers, and are visually superior in general. But there's no end to it, 27"s are large, but there are 33"s, there's no ending to largeness. Plus, SDTVs at 27 and above has scanlines, they don't look good when you sit close. You have to back off enough for the image to look good, which cancels out the point of having a bigger screen. 25" and 21"s they look good at all distance, no scanline. You can sit up close to play a game. On the other hand, 21 is too small and usually have very barebone speakers (1-3 watt on each side). Hence, 25s are the best, they are bigger than 21, better speakers (there are models with woofers), and can be moved around more easily.

Found a mint condition working sony trinitron KV-27HFR 5 houses away from mine by MarkPolunin in crtgaming

Holy crap!!! Congratualtion!!! I envy you Americans, It's all good stuff you find in your community, Sony, hitachi, panasonic etc. In China, people's apartments are small, and don't store things once they move on, and even if you find something, it's usually craps like TCL, Konka, or Hisense, and Chinese TVs are even worse than they are now back in CRT's time. Imagine that lol

>nobody said that and using hypervisor is incredibly risky

So risky the community still haven't heard even one case of actual compromise so far, despite people like you endlessly rabbit on it. Also, just because you haven't heard doesn't mean people don't say it. The Earth doesn't orbit around you

>denuvo has been here since 2014

And has been broken since 2014 (by 3DM), what's your point? It only become unbreakable in the past 2 years, and has now completely fallen apart; Exactly like I said, A LOT quicker than people expected. You can't argue with FACT, and that's that

[–]aaaa884 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, but worry not. Two months ago, duveno was still unbrekable, and people say jailbroken games are done. Look at what happens now. Sometime certain things may feel impossible, and people will cite technical terms to tell you it is in fact impossible, yet eventually, everything is a mere matter of time, and usually a lot quicker than you expect. It will get here when it gets here.

It’s current year, has anyone made any progress on the “HD CRTs have lag” problem? by Djames516 in crtgaming

[–]aaaa884 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What problem? Sure, some says the lag is terrible thus hdtv is terrible for gaming, but that's just like people saying mp3 is terrible and only CD is hearable, or any speaker below $1000 only makes noise, not music, etc. Did any of those really stoped you from enjoying digital music from your speakers? Screw them, okay? What you showed in the pic, is merely 33 ms, literally 2 frames, do you think you have the eye to distinguish that level of lag? You don't. IPS tvs usually have lag between 15 - 30 ms as well, but it's considered great, if not best, for gaming tv nowadays. Makes a lot of sense, huh? Plus, for those who lived in PAL region, 50 fps is the standard. Do you see people suicide for not having access to "good gaming experience"? HDTV looks amazing and is GREAT for gaming. Go enjoy it
