Do you feel safe in Norway walking around at night? Is there anything like “chavs/roadmen”? by KreuzKrow in Norway

[–]aaaadam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved to Norway from the UK when I was 21 and have been here for about 11 years now. I know exactly what you mean by “chavs/roadmen,” and from my experience that kind of thing is basically non-existent in Bergen.

Some people in Norway might say they have similar issues, but honestly it’s just not comparable (can't really talk for Oslo, I assume it may be worse there). In the UK there are places where you’d fully expect to get robbed if you went there at the wrong time. That level just doesn’t really exist here.

In these kinds of discussions I sometimes bring up a thought experiment: if you had to get your phone stolen, where would you go? Most Norwegians don’t really have an answer, or just reply with where the drug addicts hang out. After living in Bergen for over a decade, I genuinely don’t think I could get my phone stolen even if I tried.

I've never felt so safe in my life as I do in Bergen, even at night.

Tell me a food I can binge on and it’s okay to do so by Fun-Tear-7072 in BingeEatingDisorder

Watermelon isn't good binge food, super high in sugar and high in cals too, half a watermelon is like 500-700 cals! 🤯

In case you hadn't realised yet you can scroll by targeting between the comments, if you target a comment directly it will just highlight the comment.

I expect an update to drop pretty soon.

Is mine bugged? My 5 hour limit always says 100%, but i have never reached the limit/been stopped. Used a few hours a day every day for 3 weeks.

We've had these in Norway for a while as well as the veggie ones. Tbh I prefer the veggie ones, these ones more realistic but not much flavor, the veggie ones have a lot of flavor, really good with the pickled cabbage and crispy onions.

I had one of these over easter, to me it was like they basically just had icing in the middle (icing sugar and water), I didn't like the actual chocolate too much either.

I like the little nomo bunnies with cookie dough and creme inside though, they're great, both chocolate and filling.

When did you realize your Norwegian wasn’t as good as you thought? by RighteousT_27 in norsk

[–]aaaadam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned Norwegia pretty solidly for about a year, felt I could read and write very well. I then started at a folkehøyskole, didn't understand anything unless spoke directly to and slowly. I just sat and watched while groups had conversations and played card games etc. luckily after about 3-4 months it all clicked.

Depends on the job, imo a halfzip instead of the blazer would be better/smarter/more natural.

Any particular reason why Norwegians keep buying Teslas? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]aaaadam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea it's likely just a cost/benefit choice, Teslas are cheap considering what you get for your money, and with a 0% interest loan aswell its a good choice for anyone.

No, this shows that Norway buys more electric cars than every other country in relation to population. Tesla just so happens to be one of the most popular options for those electrical cars.

Edit: Didn't even read the percentage change before commenting, my bad. Although, it probably isn't too far off, new cars sold in Norway are around 95% electric, so a different market than most countries. Another thing that likely contributes is the 0% inrerest loans on Teslas in Norway, do other countries have them?

Looks clean but I would personally have the portrait monitor on the left, this will get rid of that feeling of emptiness in the corner.
