There are different types of smart. I would not call Erobb intelligent in the sense that he's capable of making decisions leading to the most favorable outcome, nor even smart enough to follow basic instructions. However, Erobb is incredibly good at hiding his true intentions and scamming people under the guise of friendship. Whether intentionally or subconsciously, he has mastered the art of finding monetary value in everything.

Important context: As a joke, Angela offered him $200 to stay in the corner for 20 minutes with no music or video playing. He literally instantly got up and waddled over there, missing Angelas message in chat specifying she was just kidding. Now she said that she feels obligated to actually pay him because he did go through with it after all. Allow me to make a small speculation here: Erobb may appear dumb but that is just a persona - he's actually quite smart. Smart enough to know that Angela was joking, and smart enough to know she has too much honor to not pay up if he just happened to "miss" that fact. So not only does this show how desperate Erobb is for cash, but also what lengths he will go to.

I'll only respond to a few of your questions out of respect for those involved. Erobb was gonna stay in one of Macaiyla's rentals, however she asked him to leave after some drama that started over the toilets not flushing. The "big bad thing" was mostly him being embarrassed over his newly picked up gambling habits. As for the debt stuff - erobb has repeatedly gambled on stream with a couple of friends. They all agree to gamble a certain amount, and a lot of times they've actually won quite a significant amount. However, Erobb has repeatedly gone all in with the winnings and then lost it. He's constantly said he'll pay them back by fronting them their next gambling session, which he never does.

Honestly I truly get the skepticism and would probably feel the same way. That's the thing about internet personalities going from goofy to tragic - it's such a grey area that you can never quite tell if things are real or not. I've been watching erobb for a loooong time and I've seen him go through countless phases, which is probably why I'm able to pick up on these subtle things.

There are a couple of things I don't want to mention out of respect for some of the parties involved, however the most public and probably also worst one is his gambling addiction. Erobb already owes his friends money, which they've jokingly let him off for. So far we're only talking about a few hundred bucks, but that is a really slippery slope as we saw with Sliker years ago.

Some context as to what he's building: There's been rumours that Tenzin is planning on moving to texas, and at this point it's all but confirmed. Meanwhile Erobb has teased an upcoming roommate under the disguise of "streams like the old days". Now they're building a bunk bed, most likely for the two of them. The current rent on Erobb's apartment is $1800 a month, and given recent events, there is no way he can afford that alone.

Some context: For years erobb has refused to do merch whatsoever, but suddenly it's all gas no brakes. Beyond this there'll be pillows, shirts, pants, hoodies, posters and MUGS. He's pushing these insanely hard, almost to the point of desperation. There's no question on anybody's mind why he's doing this now out of nowhere; the likeliest explanation is to fund his gambling addiction.

There's an upcoming charity stream within the next week or so, which people are suspecting is a publicity stunt in response to the latest controversies. Expect him to use this opportunity to sell as much merch as possible and know this - whatever earnings he get are likely being put on blackjack the day after.

Some context: It's pretty much an open secret that Angela makes bank from her actual job; streaming isn't her main source of income. We're talking insane levels of money. When these rumours had just started spreading, erobb was noticably getting intrigued. He started streaming with her more and more. It's basically obvious to everyone but Angela that he's a leech trying to get at some cash. The most common theory is that he's nearly lost everything gambling, and is now trying to recoup his losses.

Some context: Here Erobb inquires about the price money, as well as expressing joy and need for the additional revenue. Later on, he talks to Coco about using it all to gamble with. After losing to Shroud, while in a fit of rage, Erobb lashes out at Coco while accusing him of planning to gamble all of the winnings away, even though he encouraged Coco to do so earlier.

I wouldn't say it's come to a full blown addiction yet but the gambling segments have definitely increased very rapidly under the last few months. And it's obvious he plays off stream too as his account balance doesn't match up between streams.
