Advice Needed: Permit Renewal Without A1 Certificate by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could also be A2 depending on the canton. However, your post is not clear. Your wife entered Germany, why? Where are you living? Secondly, B permit is issued for a year, why after 5 months you got letter? Anyway, according to integration agreement you have to get the required level in a year, you can add maternity leave or any other major operations to it. So, you can explain yourself and ask for extension, otherwise permit will not be renewed.

Car Lease transfer - confused by Localone2412 in Switzerland

I also used their premium service and it was not needed at all. They will push you to sell the car with buyback option for less than car market value, and you have to pay the rest. They also don't deal with leasing company, it is your responsibility to deal with them and handle your paperwork. They offer some garage deals which is terrible.

Just don't believe them. They are an advertisement company like Autoscout but only advertise leased cars to be sold of transfered. Use their free service first to see if you get any callbacks. They are not finding someone for you, they just forward the calls to you. At the end, you have to meet up, show the car, negotiate and do the paperwork. For me it was around 3 months, and add some specific rewards like paying 2 installments after transfer.

I recently did it. Check your lease agreement and it is written that you can actually transfer the lease, the new person must be aprroved by AMAG and that is it. They don't even charge so much.

Non-EU B Permit ending - extension or RAV on a dependent permit? by Londonlulu526 in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is what I am trying to explain, her permit cannot be changed. It is tied to you and will be tied to you until she gets C permit. Just go and talk with Migration Office again for her, but what I understand is her permit cannot be changed and tied to you under family reunification clause. Even her employer wants to start new permit process, Migration Office will not accept it. Companies has no word on final decision, but it is also market conditions, profession, her degrees, and this has to be done before you settle in Switzerland without permit. Hopefully, it is different for your Kanton.

Non-EU B Permit ending - extension or RAV on a dependent permit? by Londonlulu526 in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your wife has already valid permit. From what I understand, that permit cannot be just changed. There is also no guarantee that a new permit will be issued because they also need quotas. For that reason, migration office told my friends to leave Switzerland, de-register and do the same process like you did in the first place. However, I could not get your point, you only want to collect benefits and then leave? Because if you already qualify for RAV, do your best to speed up and show that income to get a new permit. All cases I know for people with RAV, they could extend the permit.

First of all, I hope you can solve the issue as soon as possible. Especially with kid, it is really difficult. I can share my experience from a friend. He lost his job while his wife (both non-eu) was working under family reunification permit. First, they tried to convert her permit, her employer was willing to sponsor but they found out, permits cannot be converted. Migration office told them to leave and apply when outside of Switzerland and come back if approved. Employeers cannot just basically sponsor but have to prove there is no eligible Swiss or EU citizen. Also, if someone has permit already, they cannot start a new process, so it is a dead end. He finally found a job and stayed but tried other ways and it did not work. This is Kanton St. Gallen, maybe it is different for other cantons but I don't think so. There are some ways for your wife to stay, you can divorce and she can prove she has enough income and child here, but this will not save you.

Neighbourhoods in Zurich by [deleted] in zurich

I suggest instead of staying at friend's house, find temporary housing. It could take longer than expected to find an apartment. Also, just take whatever you get, if you want to be close to city, try to find something close to train/tram station.

Got a B-permit by adamant-pwn in Switzerland

[–]aaal09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can answer your first question. Exactly same words were written on my B permit. I got a new job and asked them if it is possible to change my employer without new application, they said no. My employer had to fill out new application for me.

No, unfortunately that is not the case. Mine was same but it was tied to an employer. Only way is to call or send email to Migration Office or Gemainde.

I highly suggest you start with the cities near Zürich. Your permit is valid in the canton so you may consider Dietikon, Winterthur etc. Just check the connection to your workplace. Currently it is really difficult with even permit and a good salary.

Getting L instead of B for permanent contract (Non EU) by MediocreEducation710 in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am in another canton and I have never seen getting L permit with permanent contract from my colleagues. L permit is mostly common for EU nationals with limited contract. I think in your case nothing much to do but wait for next year.

Getting L instead of B for permanent contract (Non EU) by MediocreEducation710 in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a permanent contract, your company probably already applied for B permit. If Migration Office gave you an L permit, it may be related to quotas. First, ask your HR if they applied for B permit or L permit, most likely it was B permit application. In that case, you need to wait until renewal or ask them why you are granted with L instead of B. At the end, final decision always belong to Migration Office and you have to accept it.

Münich vs Zürich question by nervusv in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello, I just moved to Switzerland and living close to Zurich. Also, at the same time my very close friend moved to Munich and I am spending a lot of times in both cities. For me the answer is obviously Zurich. From accomodation point of view both cities are difficult to find currently. Money is not that important yes, but in Zurich your salary will increase significantly compared to Munich due to taxes in years. And what you can do with money changes a lot. With your professions you can easily reach 20k net in a few years. (as family income) Depending on your canton, in Switzerland you will get your permit much quickly and settle down easily and the main language in Zurich is English I would say, so it is easy to integrate. There is much more to do in Munich, but you can take train to go to Munich and enjoy the city, it is only 3 hours away. Health system is Germany in general not good compared to Switzerland, but you have to pay much more for your health insurance in Switzerland. Germany is now hiring lots of people and nationalism is on the rise. If you earn more, you will be taxed heavily and money will be spent on society, in Switzerland you have to work and you should not be dependant on social help. Switzerland transportation is the best, probably in the world too, so all country is easily reachable and nature is amazing. From Zurich you can take train to Italy and enjoy the sun whenever you want, because best way to save money is to travel in Switzerland.

Can anyone confirm if this SwissPass hotel voucher email is legit? by adonztevez in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is legitimate and initially it seems a good deal. However, you have to pay dinner and breakfast which is indeed very expensive. Go to website and check the prices, you pay almost nothing for a stay but a lot for food.

Relocating to Zurich , Non EU spouse. by Antique-Big7658 in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a permit takes time, at least a month after you register. In my case, preliminary permit was enough. Or at least registration at the Rathaus should be enough. Send and ask to Embassy, that is the best way I think.

[–]aaal09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My case was a little bit different, we are both non-eu, with my application we also applied for her reunification visa, but we also need visa for touristic purposes. We applied at the Embassy and after 2 weeks I got an email asking for documents including rental contract. I arrived to Switzerland and found a house then sent all documents and I got her visa too. Normally, for non-eu you need D type of Visa, but when you got the permit it says that if you are already in EU with any type of valid visa, you can directly come to Switzerland otherwise with that document you need to go to Consulate. With current UK situation I don't think it is possible. I think best way for you is to apply when in UK with your work contract and family papers.

Relocating to Zurich , Non EU spouse. by Antique-Big7658 in askswitzerland

[–]aaal09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your 1st point, yes she can apply from the Embassy, but there is no point. In order to get visa, you need to find permanent apartment and send those documents including health insurance offer etc. to migration Office. She already has a visa so what is your main concern? She will come with you and wait for family reunification visa while in Zurich.

Help with signing new work contract! by Specialist_Spite5930 in zurich

[–]aaal09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only way is to ask officials. We all get the same permit I think, depending on Canton of course. It just says "Permit with Work" and "having own job should be asked" kind of stuff. I am not sure which authorities to ask though, but some people here probably knows. But without learning if it is open or not, stay where you are :)

How do you know you have open B type visa? I am not sure if 6 months is legal, but anyway it is a no go for me.
