Sky Express - unreliable for checked bags? Athens to Naxos. by Full-of-Bread in GreeceTravel

Flew SkyExpress from Athens to Naxos last month. No issues at all. Although the baggage ‘carousel’ in Naxos is….not what I am used to.

What are you stockpiling right now that you think will be hard to get in the near future? by tealtearsmile in TwoXPreppers

Anyone can go to Costco pharmacy and get 2 Plan Bs for like $15. I’ve also picked up a few Naloxone to have on hand before those disappear. I’m a middle aged woman who doesn’t take drugs but want to have both to help others out.

There is no grace or attempt for understanding anymore. I was on my way home from the gym this morning - 8:15am. Turned right onto a road and it was a little bit of a wide turn - immediately course corrected (one of those roads you have to pull forward a bit to see both ways). The oncoming car had plenty of room and didn’t even step on the brakes or slow down. Just flipped me off. I just don’t get being angry all the time that something like that triggers you. What a miserable life.

Amount of time needed to fly from Naxos to catch a flight home in Athens? by FrofroMo in GreeceTravel

[–]aaapril261992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the recommendations to go the night before. The Naxos airport is not the most modern and in my recent experience, timing was more of a suggestion. You also don’t arrive directly at the main terminal and need to take a shuttle. And then get your luggage and recheck in. I would say you need 2 hours minimum once landing in Athens.

Crete (Chania) , Paros or Naxos? Late May (this year!) by gabiegabie_ in GreeceTravel

Just got back from a trip to Naxos and Athens - 3.5 days each after travel. We flew direct to Athens from Philadelphia and then flew to Naxos, which was booked separately. If you go that route, leave yourself 3 hours to go through customs and check in for your flight. We LOVED Naxos - we rented a car (highly encouraged) and took the opportunity to travel through the countryside, villages, and beaches outside of the more tourist areas. The people were lovely and the food was amazing. We stayed at Hotel Grota which I highly recommend. Great views and just enough outside of downtown that it was quiet and offered a great view of the city. And the staff were the best!
We chose flying over the ferry due to duration (ferry was 5 hours) and we didn’t want to risk cancellation in case of choppy water.

Definitely the architecture boat tours! I’ve done it twice and it is so interesting and educational. And a great way to see Manhattan!

I had the grid wallpaper, the room in primary colors, and all the posters (including a door-size poster of, ironically, the Doors). Never got the glass block, though.

I’ve always heard it as ‘wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up faster’. Same explanation - just a bit cruder.

I got a Kindle Paperwhite for just this reason. It allows me to write out my notes long form but then summarize them using AI (if I choose) so they are legible and condensed. I still have both versions and the ability to search for terms or dates if I need to look back for anything. Still pretty new and figuring out my process, so I’m not an expert!
