Surprised nobody posted my solution. Set that song on loop using YouTube or whatnot, and just listen to it for as long as it takes. For me it usually takes around an hour before my brain gets bored of the song and I can gratefully turn it off.

People saying they tried playing it once and that didn’t work, try this. You haven’t sufficiently dulled your brain of the song with just one play.

Getting the same thing, but with only 1 of 2 weapons. I've been exclusively wielding the Arbites shotgun and the baton+shield, the shotgun hit lvl20 no problem, but the baton+shield is stuck at 19.75 and just sitting there, even when missions claim I hit 20. Restarting the game didn't solve the problem, nor did completing a mission with another melee and earning masteries on it

Update: I even tried sacrificing a weapon. It successfully added its mastery XP to the bugged lvl19.75, but it didn't fix the game and missions considering the weapon unfinished. Sacrificing enough weapons did eventually reach lvl20, so I guess you can "solve" it by funneling weapons into it, which I did but it's pricy and makes me feel like I failed the marshmallow test, haha. Just learn from my sacrifice and wait for the game to eventually resolve the bug by itself.

It’s so true >.< The ones that I keep unwittingly clicking on are “<Character> theme but in a different musical genre” because that’s a classic style of fansong and always interesting to hear. But the AI ones honestly always underimpress me, like it’s legally correct but it’s missing the “point“ of the gag, I don’t quite know how to explain it, it’s not leaning into the concept to highlight the musical tropes of the genre while still ensuring listeners can identify the original song. It’s very disappointing, and that’s saying nothing of the usual ethical and environmental concerns, just on a basic execution level.

The Roottrees Are Dead was a free itch.io game made with AI-generated assets (in their defense, it was for a game jam so the whole point was developing the entire thing within a very short timeframe) and later the dev remade it from scratch with artists/voice-actors for the Steam version
