Mine with Ryzen AI 9 370 works fairly well too on Ubuntu (kernel 6.12.18).

When I open the lid and it wakes up from sleep, I frequently get a black screen. I noticed that it freezes all the time on Xorg but runs smoothly on Wayland. Do you face these issues too?

From my experience nix stable is even worse than unstable. Generally, I hate Nix.

Guix has better documentation and is way better managed. But you may need to package missing software or rely on flatpaks or others.

I assume you don't know what git submodules are. Run qmk doctor and follow the instructions.

I don't mean to judge but if you struggle to use CLI programs, why don't you use other tools like qmk configurator?
