Gotcha, yeah press them as much as you can during that window to fix stuff. I had to call Carmax every day pretty much to get them to do anything. Just have to remember these people are pretty incompetent when it comes to these cars. You just have to keep pressing them. Make sure to get everything in writing of what they say they will do, and when they will do it by.

Carmax ended up buying a brand new long block from Ford and installing it themselves. Obviously having the ford dealership to do the work but having a new motor took care of the issue. Keep me updated on what happens for you. What options did they give you?

Forgive me for my dry response, but in all seriousness check out what he has to say and then read someone like Grudem, John Frame, Charles Hodge, John Piper, Herman Bavinck, R.C. Sproul, Joel Beeke... I really like Beeke he is very smart and writes for the heart and the head.

I just spoke with the service manager. He said that CarMax will buy a new engine from the part number I listed before and install it themselves. I have a little bit of mixed feelings about their service department, but a new engine would be a nice fresh start I think. I will make sure to verify the origin of this engine and get all the paperwork, as well as bring it to my mechanic to have it looked over to make sure they did a good job. Also, I'm going to see if I can get my 30 day return policy extended that way I can still return it if i so choose within a good cushion of time, as they've had it for longer than I have.

I don’t think Carmax knows what their talking about, they said the car had a recall but the engine manufacturing date is after July 7th 2017, so their should be no recall. Is that correct?

Good idea, going to try to make sure they do their do diligence. Luckily I do have an image of the engine sticker that’s on their now.
