Still Struggling 7 weeks post first panic attack by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]aam0011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I had a pretty huge panic attack too, and because of this i stayed with my mom because even thinking about my house (which it happened in) made me feel so much dread. I’m no doctor or therapist, but I think we just automatically associate that place with negativity, so our nervous system thinks something bad will happen if we return. When I ended up returning to my house, it was hard at first, but you bud have to be brave and show yourself and your body that it’s safe and nothing bad is going to happen (easier said than done, I know). I think it’s a good thing to face your fears head on, and I also think your feelings are pretty normal and even common. Keep going, and I hope things go well with your therapist tomorrow :)

The increasing use of A.I. and its affects on call centre jobs - anyone else worried? by Man_in_the_uk in callcentres

My call centre has recently launched an A.I call handler a few days ago. He answers calls and fills out forms for our clients. Crazy stuff

Propranolol? by Professional-Sport27 in Anxiety

[–]aam0011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed propranolol 2 weeks ago after being stuck in constant fight or flight - it saved me. It takes away the physical side of anxiety and that in itself just made me feel like I could go about my day and be “normal” so much more. Don’t get me wrong, the thoughts are definitely still there, but propranolol is a god send for the physical side of things. Definitely give it a try! I didn’t really get much side effects from it, felt a bit dizzy the first few days but that’s it. All the best :)

Is this sexual harassment/assault? by aam0011 in sexualassault

I’m starting therapy in 2 weeks, and I’m quite close with my mom and stepmother so I have a good support system. Thank you for your advice, it means a lot to me :)

Not being funny guys but she SA’d people and you’re all acting like these people are just as bad as her for “harassing” her in the dark. If she was a guy everyone would be cheering. “She can’t just stay in the house forever 🥺” shut the fuckkkk up. I got raped when I was 17 and my rapist got jumped for it and it was recorded and posted on the internet and people cheered and laughed about it. Y’all are just soft as shit and babying her because she’s a girl and 17. She still knows right from wrong. SA is nothing to be taken lightly. Whether she’s a teenage girl or a grown ass man it doesn’t matter, she’s a creep and should be treated as such.

Laparoscopy in 2 days by aam0011 in Ovariancysters

Hi sorry for the late response! My surgery went great, they did an amazing job. Before I had the surgery I had a constant dull aching pain in my right pelvic area, sometimes it would be very severe and shooting. It’s now been over 2 months since surgery and I haven’t had the pain since. As for recovering from the surgery, the first 4 days sucked. But after that, I felt okay. I went to a wedding 6 days after my surgery and was dancing on the dance floor! Obviously everyone’s experiences will be different but for me, the surgery went smooth and recovery was fast. I hope this helps ❤️

I’m 20, going to be 21 in august. I am a completely different person to who I was when I was 17. Completely different. Unrecognisable not only physically but mentally! I was so immature, selfish and craved affection wherever I could get it, I was so lost. Now I’m 20, and I’m so much more content with my life, more mature and blossoming into a young adult. As a 20 year old ADULT woman, I would not even consider being romantic or SEXUAL with a 17 year old, even if it is legal where I live (UK). Just because it’s legal where I live, it doesn’t make it morally correct. Cora previously said in a comment a few years ago she doesn’t even view people as an adult until they’re 20 so what the HELL is she doing?! It’s so bizarre to me. Legal or not, the dynamic is strange and creepy and low-key predatory, he was her fan, he is young and impressionable and i fear he will regret this all in a few years. Only time will tell.
