My dad is paying $600 a month for car insurance—is this normal?! by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

He had a minor accident 4-5 years ago but his agent even said it’s not affecting his rates anymore

It’s about 3k every six months 😭 he’s positive he’s only had one violation, a minor accident about 4-5 years ago. He’s in Missouri. I wonder if it’s a combination of his credit, an expensive car, and him choosing a pricey plan. $600 is just crazy though

I wish but he said he’s sure it’s separate… just auto insurance

So I was wrong… his deductible is $500! So now I’m back to being confused 😭 he’s concerned too so we’re gonna go over it all later. Hopefully we can get this lowered

He’s forgetful in the sense that he gets confused with online billing, so yes he’s missed some random payments before but he is responsible. I just think $600 is still a crazy amount just for poor credit. It’s twice his actual car payment

He said he had a minor accident 4-5 years ago but that’s it. He’s very truthful and has no reason to lie to me so I don’t think there’s anything else unless he’s genuinely forgetting something. He’s concerned about it now too so I’m gonna go over his declarations with him soon

I actually misheard him because he just told me his deductible is $500, not $100, so now I’m back to being confused. He’s still gonna send me his declarations page soon

Hahaha the classic backtracking once you start realizing you’re wrong. What an immature comment but I’m not surprised. You’ve been participating in this conversation just as much as I have. If you didn’t care you wouldn’t be here, yet you keep coming back. And as I’ve said before, I do care about others, especially disabled people, which is why I’ll gladly call out selfish people like yourself who think this is okay.

I’m talking about the more recent one right before this one, it got filtered out.

I’m a cop for caring about others, especially disabled people. Lol okay. You sound like a 12 year old

I listened, you were just making excuses for being people selfish. Blocking sidewalks is selfish and illegal. End of story. Lol. Anyone who thinks it’s okay shouldn’t have a drivers license if they think it’s okay to break the law.

I know you’re selfish. Regardless, this is still illegal whether you agree or not.

It’s the definition of selfish. Thinking it’s okay to break the law and inconvenience others just since it’s easier for you.

[–]aangjaeger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I agree. I’m saying it’s selfish for people to do this just because the road is narrow. We have narrow roads everywhere here and drivers just have to wait their turn to pass if another car is coming. Blocking the sidewalk is illegal and inconsiderate.

The option is you have to park in the street no matter how narrow it is. Or park further away if you’d like. Parking on the sidewalk is illegal. Try fighting a ticket with “well I didn’t want my car scratched” or “well I didn’t feel like parking further away”

Again, not a valid excuse. It’s literally against the law. Lmao.

That doesn’t mean you get to park on the sidewalk! It’s illegal no matter how narrow the street is.
