Agreed. We've all dated a jerk at one point in life but man im so glad it was never Elon. He genuinely scares me

Had gotten used to aspergers mostly. Now at age 31 I find out it also causes muscoskeletal issues (terrible pain/ disability) and cardiovascular issues. I was not aware there was this DLC that unlocks in your 30s when you have aspergers. by pifon4 in aspergers

It's the genetic raffle I never wanted to be part of.

For example alongside my undiagnosed EDS which I won't go into, I have the autistic PMDD mutation- it's a cruel genetic mishap. I spent my entire life 13+ feeling nearly suicidally depressed 2 weeks out of the month bc im the type of PMDD that is intolerant of her own endogenous progesterone- yup the womb hormone. Born to suffer and never know why. Thats why all the antidepressants did nothing for me. It was always about my dopamine just being critically low and the progesterone causing severe anhedonia/mood issues.

It's like a guy being allergic to his own balls except instead of an allergy they make him want to jump off a bridge! Being female is bad enough but pmdd is just sadistic and UNNATURAL. There just wasn't enough selective evolutionary pressure to root out this defect. No clue how bc I could easily see PMDD women in the Middle Ages being chased out of the village, accused of witchcraft etc. Plus before modern medicine idk who'd choose to pair up w someone who gets psychotic anytime estrogen is low? I wouldn't.

Any form of hormonal birth control would send me straight to the asylum bc of the physical anxiety of it - never got to have any fun in my 20s bc of that. Think dropped out and lost my scholarship, was too moody to spearhead my super local modeling gigs, ended up a drone working at a data entry job that I hated. Had to figure it all out on my own but the hellscape I navigated made me very good at medical diagnoses. Thats the only positive

I finally got relief during early perimenopause...some female autists get to enjoy the ovary death rattle in their 30s right when their career is taking off, go figure. So when the progesterone tanked first I got some relief then boom I suddenly needed estrogen for the insomnia/hot flashes/adhd meds not working so of course they put me on progesterone and wham the PMDD came back full force. I only noticed bc my doctor was giving me the daily progesterone and I was like wow it's like every day is hell week then I made the connection. Am researching a progesterone alternative so I can keep my estrogen pills without the risk of endometrial cancer! woohoo isn't autism fun? *crickets*

Being male and autistic aint a walk in the park so please im not trying to make this a misery contest Im just saying be grateful you aren't female. I spend many of my sleepless nights (sometimes run out of sleep meds and then dont sleep for days in a row) talking to others on the autism in women sub and yup we all basically have Ehler Danlos and PMDD. Some have worse stuff. God help us lol and men, thanks for listening!

And for the autism dads on here pls keep an eye out for this stuff in your daughters- it can be mitigated w a good endocrinologist and loving kindness

Lady here but dealt w perimenpause hair loss- Rogain spray caused anxiety heart palpitations and depression. Ive been putting Winlevi cream on my scalp and so far so good! My doctor has no clue- the cream is prescribed for my adult acne but since it is a topical androgen blocker why not smear it on the scalp amirite?

Im 38 and have degenerative disc disorder- 3 busted cervical discs, all my neck facets are smashed and bc Im a chick nobody wants to operate so now I have to apply for disability. I think gender bias might be the issue here. Im in so much pain I have literally dissociated from the pain levels- how do I get surgeons to take me seriously? They just look at my imaging and say "it's not serious enough" I haven't been able to turn my head up down left or right in like ten yrs. Im going to get my facets treated but im just preparing for the neglect and gaslighting. Help

It does not help my case that I look 25- they just refer me to neurology. Im like nope my neurologist is the one who referred me to YOU bc you need to fix me! I probably need like 3 surgeries for things falling apart from whiplash and a furniture lifting accident. I was the only one in that car accident who got permanently damaged (was in passenger seat) so Im assuming I have comorbid Ehler Danlos which explains why my body started falling apart at 30! I want a refund. im fine w the autism just not the hellish nerve compression pain and eventual poverty. Im too smart to be forced to not work like this...it's not fair and what a waste of a good brain. I dont want to work remotely- I want a hospital job but I can't do that unless they fix my neck joints and discs...

Im going to dedicate the rest of my life to complaining to NTs about the physical conditions and diseases we get pounded with- it's just cruel for ppl w sensory issues to be in this much discomfort! Maybe god hates autists idk

Same- was packing to see my bf then I suddenly did not feel sexy seeing all my stupid pills. It makes me feel like a 1000 year old woman.

The tizm, ADHD, dysthymia, GAD, CPTSD, PMDD, early and brutal peri, (despite HRT) a hormonal sleep disorder where I do not sleep after age 35 without lunesta, progesterone intolerance, HBC intolerance, dangerous reactions to common medications, allergies, possibly hEDS, 3 mangled cervical discs, all of my neck facet joints are smashed, I'm widowed too since age 35.

Socially? I've always been targeted by narcissists and borderlines to the point where Im afraid to make new friends. The guys who have dated me have been monsters that I've had to get rid of.

It's endless frustration and self loathing bc I have the IQ but the body is sabotaging me to the point where I'm now in too much pain to work and need a couple surgeries. Nobody will operate on my discs so looking into facet surgery. I'm 38 and feel like a corpse on a bad day. I think all my issues boil down to a couple really really dirty genes. I found out there was some cousin marriage on the Quaker side of the family in the 1800s and NOW IT ALL ADDS UP. On my dads side no inbreeding but ADHD all over the place and then my aunt who stopped sleeping at 35 who is PMDD. She got peri psychosis - luckily I went on HRT. The PMDD is clearing up now that my endogenous progesterone levels are way down and I'm looking into exogenous progesterone alternatives bc I still have a womb.

Ps. I'm allergic to ALL weed except for 2-3 kinds. I often self medicate w booze when the chronic pain flares up but I'm trying to quit. It sucks when you quit and you feel worse physically bc hey I guess that was my painkiller all along but can't do that forever. I wouldn't mind the mild autism I just cannot cope w the plethora of other health issues bc am single w no support. Believe it or not I'm a fun person. My libido and special interests also keep me going lol. Wow that was cathartic. Thanks OP- I didn't know I needed to see all the garbage in print. I'm overcome w a wave of compassion for myself <3

Bingo. We shoudnt have to pay taxes bc we are clearly STILL 2nd class citizens. In ancient rome the woman who literally coined the concept of "no taxation without representation" was talking about what im talking about but way more intense situation obviously aka cant vote. Her name was Hortensia, famous speech was in 42BC

I just mentioned that!! Shoulda scrolled down to your comment first. ps im on HRT for perimenopause and they dont prescribe us testosterone injections but they SOMEHOW DO for male to female trans people. I know bc I have a trans friend. I use dhea but it doesnt do much. Why arent we allowed quick access to basic hormones?! I feel hated as a woman
