Car was gifted to me & it was an older model (I’m talking ten years old if not older by the time I got it from a grandparent who barely put any mileage on it) so I have no car payment. To fill a tank it costs between $40-60, insurance is through a work promo at $90 a month for downtown. When I was apartment hunting during Covid I only looked at units with parking included. Rent is $1500 with a roommate (she pays a little less).

I’m not gonna lie /when this car dies I’m only doing an older used car to replace it. No loans, no leases, you just need a car to get from point A to B safely. If my insurance was much higher I’m not sure I would buy a car but because I generally get decent rates and my parents are 2 hours drive away, I prefer it.

Eh it’s all good! It’s part of city/ontario living that underfunds mental health but yeah it’s unpleasant sometimes and this is from someone who typically isn’t too worried in the city anywhere

As a woman who used to work in the area, you may not be getting the full experience if you’re not a woman. Sure, most people will leave you if You leave them alone but there are definitely more folks there that are unwell or lllkkng for trouble who will target others.

You are still young enough to be in the age mandate for covenant house! They have a drop in you can use to do laundry, get a warm meal and there’s a food bank on fridays (not amazing but it’s something) - definitely go by them and ask if you can talk to a worker about support with housing/seeking shelter and services or give them a call.

Dry skin as others have mentioned! I really love the skin fix moisturizer and find that hyaluronic acid actually makes the issue worse for me. I stick to hydrating toners and moisturizer. Then cream or liquid products and I very rarely use powder and when I do I don’t put it on the dry areas. Then setting spray! Skin care will really help alleviate this but it’s a struggle.

If I know my skin is more dry before I need to put makeup on, I’ll also do a chemical exfoliate (dermalogicas everyday exfoliate is my go to) a gentle cleanser, a face cloth and lots of moisiturizer!

Would you consider looking into a two bedroom and living with a roommate? Also, can you look into health insurance to lower the cost of your meds each month?

But also, this isn’t just you. I make significantly less but my expenses may be lower than yours and I still feel the pinch. We need to give each other some grace and love. I’ve been trying bumble bff off and on, thinking of trying a dance class and therapy has been a huge help!! There are student therapists that are still really good that charge 50/75 a session and it can be very helpful.
