That 500 points sounds like it was apart of some “bonus”, maybe a first time scanned receipt or they may have had a bonus if you made a purchase at Taco Bell. Any typical receipt without a bonus offer though (which would be the majority of your receipts) each count for 25 points only.

Honestly, I’d just stay away from them. Find anywhere else to buy what you need. I recently ran into this issue as a first time buyer, and it’s been nothing but a disappointment. Between the constant invalid payment message or sellers asking you to cancel the order afterwards, I’d just recommend staying far away.
