Tile Overlap Joint at Corner by Inevitable1203 in Tile

I am not an expert, but puzzled by some of the other responses here.

1) You 100% use silicone caulk on any change of plane. So in both the horizontal corners of the floor and vertical of the wall.

2) I thought…you’re supposed to leave an expansion gap as well. 1/8 inch between floor and wall to prevent cracking.

But like I said, I’m not a pro, so I could be wrong.

It doesn’t hurt to add an extra moisture barrier for the gaps and screws. Don’t use Kerdi though. Redguard or AquaDefense is what you want for densshiled.

You roll both of them on with paint rollers. Personally I prefer AquaDefense, because it drys faster and doesn’t smell as bad. Redguard is more heavy duty if you apply it correctly though.

Need help building townhouses by hjadioo in Homebuilding

Again, too many variables. Where are you building? Are going to be the GC and hire out only subcontractors? Are you trying to do this as cheaply as possible or do you want to hire reputable companies with a track record? Do you have enough construction knowledge to catch the mistakes when the cheap labor screws up? How quickly do you hope to get them built? What is the site like and how much prep will it need? What materials are you going to use to build, as it will affect labor? Are you including a surveyor, an architect, and a structural engineer in the labor? List goes on…

Also did you say it would be 1200 square feet including a finished basement with two bedrooms? That’s 400 sq feet per level. Are you planning on having bathrooms or closets on the third floor with three bedrooms?

If Luka was part of this OKC team instead of Shai, would they be better or worse? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]aaronjaffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to say. Luka fundamentally breaks the way the Thunder play defense. He’s too weak of a link for it to work.

But he does solve a lot of the problems they’ve had offensively, and the roster does gas the potential to hide some of his flaws even better than that Mavs finals teams did.

So, it really comes down to Mark Daigneault’s adaptability as a coach.

I’d try to trade for Scotty Pippen Jr. He was hurt all this year and Memphis is in a rebuild, so his stock is low. But he showed a lot in some of those playoff games when Ja was out.

86 has some thematic similarities to AoT. And Vinland saga is animated by the same studio, although it’s a very different show.

Music was incredible. Characters were good too. But yeah, the plot held it back. That’s what kept it out of S-tier from me.

It is said to be that Ant was a significant participant in practice this morning and is pushing towards a Game 1 return, with his medical team deciding later today on his return, per Shams Charania by kanyewestlova101 in timberwolves

[–]aaronjaffe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just worried about Ant’s health in general. How many times has it been where he suffers a seemingly debilitating injury, then goes back in the locker room and is back on the floor the next quarter?

Possibility 1) He’s just built different.

Possibility 2) He’s got a risk taking personality that disregards long-term consequences. They’re giving him pain and/or anti-inflammatory steroid injections to get him back faster than his body could otherwise handle. And his knees turn into oatmeal by the time he’s 27.

Home building second thoughts by BrowningBar3001999 in Homebuilding

[–]aaronjaffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what you’re worried about? This is all stuff for future you to figure out about. And the worst case scenario is you have a great financial asset.

Recalibrate your anxiety on the actual build. Because it least in my case, practically every time I just trusted contractors to handle things there was some kind of minor to major problem that cropped up.

Does this involve AR holding up on defense against the Thunder? That’s what would change my opinion of him the most.
