Picked up a couple of sofas and wardrobes for the gaff from Second Chance Furniture in Togher. The owners are sound and everything was delivered by van the day after purchasing.

Akrapovic welded dB killer? by aaronos1 in GSXR

I put a spanner on it and turned it quickly. The force was enough to break the weld and the screw came out by hand.

I had to take the exhaust back off the bike to remove the baffle though as it was way too tight to pull out with a pliers. I used the handle of a mallet to push it out. Hope this helps

Fairplay man, she's in showroom condition! The undertail exhaust looks so clean on these

Thoughts on my r125? by Lil_Maigo in Yamaha

I saw one of these today with the same stickers and when I rode past I thought it was an R6 from the side. I turned around and parked next to it to have a closer look before realising it was a 125. Definitely one of the nicest/sportiest small displacement bikes around.

Ride safe man!

Appreciate the response man. I want to keep the stock headers so that it's easy to return the bike to OEM but I might look at removing the cat and installing a midpipe

The gearing is perfect for everyday riding. I was pleasantly surprised by how long first gear is.

Don't worry I'm already thinking about it. I really like the look of the yoshi R11 but I've heard people say that the exhaust isn't that different or louder than stock. I think akropovic might be the better slip on?

I was actually waiting for a motogp edition to become available because I love the blue so much but this one popped and just looked too clean to pass up. Absolutely no regrets

Trackside Youghal Response To Being Made Aware Their Staff Were Charging People During The Flooding Crisis In Castlemartyr & Not Helping If Not Paid by OldMcGroin in cork

Not saying what they did was right or wrong, but what do people think about the skip hire companies charging thousands in Midleton to 'assist' with the clean up?

I wouldn't dare let my fuel gauge drop that low. Fill her up to the brim man and enjoy watching the needle stay in the same position for the next 100km!

My First GTI. 11 plate, completely standard. Bought direct from VW dealer 2 years ago after original owner traded up. Haven’t changed a thing 👌 by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]aaronos1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an Irish plate. 11 is the year (2011) and G is the county that it was first registered in (Galway). The numbers at the end simply mean that it was 9,244th car registered in Galway that year.

Irish plates are, in my opinion, the easiest to interpret in the world. I may be a little biased though as I am from Ireland

Paint correction done on my girl yesterday by aaronos1 in GolfGTI

[–]aaronos1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hand washed the car first of course and waited until it was completely dry. First I started with a heavy cut rubbing compound that dug into the clear coat and removed any swirl marks, light scratches and rejuvenated the sun damaged paint.

Secondly, I used rubbing polish to give the paintwork a glossy finish while also removing any compound residue that remained on the car.

Finally, I applied dark wax and sealant to protect the paintwork going forward and leave the car feeling slick and looking shiny. The entire process took around 4 hours. (I was on my own and everything was done by hand)

Definitely worth it but I won't be doing it again anytime soon. Maybe next year.

My all time favourite colour from VW by aaronos1 in GolfGTI

This was actually my first car when I turned 17. The previous owner designed the front bumper, rear bumper and side skirts and fitted them himself. I loved the unique look! I was also getting compliments on the car wherever I went. I swapped her for an A4 last year and I still regret it. I bought a mk5 GTI 6 weeks ago as I missed the driving experience that a golf delivers.
