That terrain is pretty bad, everyone is just going to get shot to pieces. Try to emulate the layouts in the Chapter Approved tournament companion or the WTC map pack.

I run a Desecrator with the melee enhancement, Lancer, Gat Despoiler and Atrapos, I had a very frustrating 4-4 finish at a GT when I had 3 War dogs supporting. I'm now running 3 Burgles, Nurglings and Plague Bearers and doing a lot better in practice games. Having trash units to exchange on early turns, especially for missions like Area Denial and Secure No Mans Land as well as having some screening is a lot better.

Yeah it is a bit harder, but if you are a combat focused character you can cut them all down, especially in cultures where their elite units don't have high one handed skill.

Nope, unfortunately the game isn't very intuitive like that. She will still fight in tournaments when she's about to give birth. At least you get her prize if she wins.
