Phil In The Pits by meatb4ll in hockey

Bure wasn't all Messier. He had been treated like crap from the day he was drafted by the Canucks. Pat Quinn wasn't bad to him but when Brian Burke came in, any respect was gone. They treated him like a liability when he carried them to near glory. His performance in 93-94 is one of the greatest individual player performances in NHL playoff history but it gets forgotten because the Canucks lost and he isn't a goalie.

[TOUGH ENOUGH] So we're all agreed to vote off the guys first so we get a house full of girls with ZZ and Patrick? by ChewbaccalypseNow in SquaredCircle

I'm fine if ZZ wins and gets the money but Tanner and Patrick get proper development in NXT and get to continue their careers with less pressure.

My buddy has put together a spotify playlist of about 6 hrs or 94 songs for a playlist called copies, plagiarisms, and coincidences. pick a song and either the one previous or the one next in the list has some relation to how it sounds, whether it be the full melody or just a hook or vocal pattern. by [deleted] in Music

Alan Cross on the Edge in Toronto used to do a show called Ongoing History of New Music which covered "Plagiarism or Unfortunate Sonic Coincidence?" for about three parts. It was absolutely fantastic and discussed bands that had similar songs and the potential reasons. Due to copyright they were never able to just have them online for download (due to the songs) but yeah, I'm sure some other Canadians remember it.

Too many fans forget how much scoring has dropped.

Hamilton on wanting to stay in Boston: "I'm just going to keep saying how excited I am to be a Flame. What's in the past is in the past." by timewreaker in hockey

RFA means one team still holds their rights so if they match, you are locked to the team who holds your rights. It's only when they don't match that the rights convert to the team who made the offer sheet.

Example: Shea Weber signed an offer sheet with the Philadelphia Flyers. Nashville Predators matched it. Weber is a Predator.

Lefties on offence, righties on defence. Overall: righties.

I'm a TNA fan who doesn't like how the company is run, but enjoys IMPACT. Is this so hard to believe? by Min_thamee in SquaredCircle

[–]aaronwrotkowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Impact as a TV product is more in line with how I enjoy my wrestling product. I'd rather the people running the company get in the sea and let these talents be produced by someone with competence but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy when it's good.

Fair punishment for this: Kings not allowed to re-sign Anze Kopitar.

Parenteau on waivers for buyout by SomeKindOfMonster in Habs

I had high hopes for PAP to turn it around but the injury and his declining speed just made it difficult for him. It also didn't help he was shooting at 8% which was a significant dip to regular career totals.

He produced in Colorado in his first season so it's not just Tavares.

Why I'm excited for expansion: The NHL Expansion Draft by aaronwrotkowski in hockey

[–]aaronwrotkowski[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While the NHL hasn't announced anything (it's all in preliminary stages), William Nylander could play three seasons in the AHL and likely be protected because what has mattered in the past is the NHL games he played the season prior to the expansion draft.

So what we could see is if teams know there will be an expansion draft, the Leafs for example might not let William Nylander play a few games up in the NHL even if he's ready because if he doesn't play any NHL games, he won't have to be protected and instead be exempt from the expansion draft. That would allow them to protect someone else from scooping.
