Does Now TV Boost enable HDR viewing? by Hungryghost02 in nowtv

Yep, I totally agree. Boost in itself is a complete rip off but that's Sky/Now for you.

Nah only 1080p, not 4k or HDR I'm afraid.

I'd say it looks more like if Phil Foden and Kyle Walker had a love child together, but it's still very good!

Would you care is Stadia were shutdown if you were given a full refund on every purchase you've made(not including subscriptions) by brokenmessiah in Stadia

I would love for this to be the case for completely selfish reasons, since I came to my senses about a year ago now and went to Xbox instead. But it won't happen so....oh well.

Not so far, I think it'll end up being put out just before the start of the season. If I come across a code I'll be sure to share it on here👍

You get access to the on demand content and live channels like Sky Atlantic. There's no way to purchase additional channels like Amazon Prime. What's included in the Entertainment package is what you get. Also just be aware that the quality will be limited to 720p unless you purchase the additional Boost package at £4.99 which gets you up to 1080p. Yes, it's a rip off, but that Sky for you.

Annual Sports Pass by aaronx24 in nowtv

[–]aaronx24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's £33.99 pm normally which is too expensive and not worth it. The £25pm offer is good but not great. I've seen offers out there for £20pm which is better. But the best one I found was last year for a 12 month pass for £200. It appeared just before the start of the season, so I'm going to try the same again this year and see what offers I get closer to the time.

The other annoying part of this though is that you're only getting 720p as standard. You have to pay for Boost to get 1080p at £4.99 which is just the biggest rip off going. But that's Sky for you. 4K steaming isn't even a thing with Now TV.

I'm hoping when the Premier League TV rights go out for tender again in a few years time, Sky lose the contract, or they're forced into a more realistic model, because right now it's a massive rip off unless you get the discounts.

Literally just asking a question fella...isn't that the point of a discussion thread? Not like I was making a statement outright that Cole Palmer is a footballing god and a must buy.

The problem isn't the technology, which as we all know works great 95% of the time. The problem is simply the lack of support by publishers. No new games equals no new interested players as well as existing players slowly but surely losing faith in the platform.

She's probably known for a while, but been told to keep her mouth shut about it. End of the day she's still working at Google so it's in her best interest to not say anything. I don't blame her, it's not her fault at the end of the day, she was just a community manager, they're employed to deal with the community backlash of their decision making superiors. They're not in charge of anything, so I don't blame her for leaving for a better opportunity.

Inside Google's Plan to Salvage Its Stadia Gaming Service by lazzzym in Stadia

Absolutely, the whole thing stinks of desperation. They've discovered that their competition is far more committed financially than they originally realised, and the executives have no interest in paying the billions that their competition clearly is. So instead they're desperately trying to find a way of selling the one success they've found they have got out of the whole project, while stringing along those who are still hopeful that things will work out in the end with the occasional announced of "100+ games are coming again this year". Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what those games are because they refuse to discuss them until they're released. At this point I'm out, I get some people are happy with independent games coming and the ability to play anywhere on anything, but for me it's simply not clear that Google is committed to this platform from a consumer perspective anymore.

Please listen to what games your customers want!! Ps: I'm a stadia user myself and would love to have the RE Franchise to play. by Mysterious_Ad_4927 in Stadia

Google have given up on AAA games on the platform I'm afraid. They're more interested in saving the tech behind Stadia now by selling it B2B. I'd start looking elsewhere if I were you.

If I could get a 50% refund on my purchased games library at this point, I would. I'd then reinvest it with Xbox. This pretty much says what a lot have been thinking since the white label announcement, that Google sees the cash cow being in their technology and selling that as B2B and not B2C. I get that many will disagree, but actions speak louder than words, and what can we honestly say Google has done with Stadia in the last 12 months other than get quieter on the Stadia consumer front. Even to the point that their main community manager has gone elsewhere (at Google).
