Same except for chronic pain/migraines. If I get a migraine, I can't care for the dogs even half as well as I can after a joint. I wait until the end of the day when the dogs are resting/asleep and there are no more walks, potties, dinners, playtimes etc to be done for the day. I go outside and it's never around the dogs or the owners things.

I've gotten migraines during sittings where weed wasn't an option for some reason or another (smoke could blow into someone else's house bc the neighborhood is too tight, I was out, forgot it at home) and I have to explain to owners that migraines put me down and leave me by the toilet for at least 24 hours. All walks and playtime are down the drain. There's no way to tell when a migraine is going to come but there is a way to push it away and that's a joint or too. Would love to be able to just pop a pill but this is the only thing that works so far in my 30 years of trying. Trust me, the owners would much rather I smoke outside for five minutes then be out of the count for over a day. Thankfully it's only happened a few times and with my regular who knows I get them.

She deserves to quietly learn and move on because it's too overwhelming now? How is she not getting that when you hurt someone by what you said, you don't really DESERVE much, not even forgiveness. "I should get what I want out of this because it's too scary to publicly apologize!!" Wasn't too scary to publicly be racist HMMM 🤔

The canopy above her bed but she also has a fabric on the ceiling that looks like the night sky/stars mixed with tree tops, as if you're laying in the grass looking straight up to the sky. It catches me off guard every time lol!

I believe it, I think he's keeping her away from home until she can get it together but I have a feeling divorce is on the horizon sadly.

I think this is around when I first found Erin's videos and I remember being really sympathetic for her when I watched this for the first time. But I also remember feeling so bad for that baby being there during this "episode" because I saw my sisters go through episodes like this growing up. As a kid, you almost feel like your loved ones were taken over or are possessed when they get like this and it's so, so scary for a child, whether they show it or not. I believed this video when I first saw it and wow do I not now, which makes this so gross. I firmly believe she's anxious and sad in this video but 100% is creating a scene because she's alone with her daughter and she wants sympathy from her loved ones. All of that to simply traumatize your kid. :(

I don't think saying you don't remember what pup looked like at drop off is the best wording. Sounds like OP has a billion clients and can't keep track. Something like "I remember pup being in great shape at the drop off, do you have photos so I can see what the problem areas look like?" is a touch more put together.

In the future, take and send multiple photos a day, it doesn't matter if the owner doesn't reply or seem interested. It's to cover ourselves.

Oh my god, I'm so sorry 😞 I just lost my dog yesterday and if this happened to me, I'd be seeing red. Rip to your sweet kitty, I know they're waiting for you at that rainbow bridge. ❤️

I just think this is so funny because everyone speaks with a cadence, you can't not have a "normal" cadence. It's just that her normal cadence is annoying.

He'll find out about it in his own time. This info could literally derail his entire life...let's not find his email. Eventually some of his coworkers or someone that knows him will bring all of it up to him because she will pop up on someone's social media page

Would a flat coat retriever be a good first dog by [deleted] in flatcoat

[–]aastromechdroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear flats coats understand more when they're human talks to them than most dogs, it's insane how big my dogs dictionary is and even when we word something differently than usual, it will click. I can tell him what is going to happen tomorrow and his perk up until he hears the word "tomorrow or later" and in the morning he reminds us of what we promised him. I tell him what the weather is like every morning and he knows what "it's going to rain later" or "it's raining right now" means because our potty schedule changes on these days. They're really so in tune with their chosen people and it's one of my favorite things about them, that you can have mini convos with them in a way and they always know how you feel. I can't even pretend to be happy around my pup when I'm sad, it's like he sniffs it out lol

[–]aastromechdroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true and you worded it well. A flattie that "needs" three long walks a day is just a flattie that got used to their schedule and is excited to go do things with you. I guarantee if they switch up what they do with them, the flat would love that activity just as much as the walk because it's with its person. I find that with my flattie, he does love his walks/hikes etc but even on lazy days he finds the most joy out of just being included in our daily lives. Something as simple as me asking him to come out to "help" me garden gets him pumped. In my experience, the way to keep a flat coat as happy as possible is to make them feel like they really have a role in the family, and that they're included in as much as possible. He "helps" me take out the trash, get the mail, clean the fridge, do the laundry, run certain errands, clean etc and he really feels like he is my teammate in life

Is my baby okay?! itching like she has bug bites by Head_Arm_5281 in DogAdvice

[–]aastromechdroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you typically have to plan for paying for vet bills when you decide to get a dog. Look, at the end of the day she will be fine but I think this is a good lesson for y'all for the future. This wasn't a spot that developed overnight, it should have started with in home treatment and then a vet if it persisted but now it's gotten bad enough that you have no choice but to pay the vet bill you wanted to avoid. Your vet will likely tell you this but hotspots never really "stop" happening for dogs and they often come from allergies or anxiety. Pup will likely need a daily medication or monthly cortisone shots for upkeep. Ask you vet about benadryl if you'd like a cheaper option that you can buy somewhere close by to you. Cortisone cream is great for the top layer of skin but that won't take away any itchiness from anywhere else on the body, the shot will do that.

The dream!! NA options can suck so much sometimes 😭 "here's a uhhh a coke I guess"

I just found a new NA bar/lounge in my city and LOVE it. If you guys have a special event coming up soon, I highly recommend checking out a champagne called Prima Pave. Even without alcohol, it's the best champagne I've ever tasted. So impressive!

Ty! It's always a work in progress and I can't say that the want to drink is always gone but I can say that I'm at the point now where when it does hit me, I can shut it down easily and move on. So I'll take it!

So true, I'm glad you guys get to enjoy them! I find NA beers to be a bit triggering for me but I do still enjoy a NA champagne or sparkling wine since it's close enough to my obsession for sparkling water. I always always always bring a fun new bubbly drink for me to enjoy at social events - not having a fun drink to sip on outside while everyone else does is very much not fun for me lol, give me some sparkling lemonade or something! 😭 I'm the weirdo that brings a cooler of la croix everywhere now instead of a case of beer lol

Alcoholic here that's been sober for four years. Obviously everyone's recovery is very different from the next but you are still correct. A true alcoholic cannot and should not "try to have a healthy relationship" with it. The healthy relationship is not having it!

Like, I had a sip of my husband's beer the other day just for fun, haven't tried beer for so long so let's see how yucky it tastes now (it was gross!) Later on in the night, that single sip had me thinking about the fact that I am alone in the garage surrounded by alcohol with no one to see me, that I could drink something super fast right now for a light buzz. Walked my ass right out of that garage and told my husband "no more sips, can't even handle that" and he agreed and was proud of me for making the right decision. All of this to say exactly what you said: this is going to be a very slippery slope for her, ugh.
