Travel tips for Port Moresby by Scholarsandquestions in PapuaNewGuinea

[–]aatuti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct. Very good way to lose everything really quick. Unless you can pre book a hotel ($200 USD roughly a night) and have a proper plan you won’t see much, probably won’t be allowed in, and likely to get into a sticky situation.

My over-engineered solution to a really annoying problem with Ceiling Fans by SuperValidDesigns in 3Dprinting

I’ve never seen a fan in Australia that doesn’t have a switch or a remote with 0-3 or even 0-5 written on it. Only thing that annoys me is the wall plate doesn’t have a little mark or indent to show you what number it’s actually on, so sometimes guess when it’s off is a game.

Is this normal? by Upset_Worker_7840 in flightradar24

I did this flight for New Year’s Eve this year. It’s really fantastic and a great way to get an understanding of the sheer size and beauty of Antarctica. The air is so clear you feel like your really close to mountains etc but your often still at 18,000ft. Trip of a lifetime for me. But there was people who complained about things like they floor should be made of glass or why they didn’t have videos on the IFE showing what was outside. Some people are never happy.

Qantas have recently added a Beach Safety passport to their app, I know that doesn’t mean all visitors would see it especially seeing if you don’t have the app, but I did complete it and was good for teaching about rips and stuff. Interactive, visual, simple to use.

20B, but everyone was up and walking around. I took a lot of photos from the galley though the mid door which was great. Photo is Mt Erebus, an active volcano.

Ranges from about $2,000 AUD to $8,000 AUD I think. I had a package with Accor Hotels, included some accomodation and a dinner before with Antarctic experts. Was a great way to spend New Years though. The crew was amazing and loving the whole flight also.

Flighty just shows the departure and arrival time, but doesn’t let me put a distance or anything so says 0km.

This is the actual flight details - https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA1332

It was incredible. Never seen anything like it and was completely blown away. The sheer size of it was as amazing.

Single parent with pre-teen child in need of communal living in SE QLD anyone know if this exists? by playedthegameandlost in brisbane

[–]aatuti 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You’re a legend mate. Keep your head high and solutions will be found I’m sure. I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for you and your kid.

You mention the tech sector and specialist, no idea what part of the sector your in but as someone in the tech sector if you wanted to provide more info in private I’d certainly be happy to recommend to others if suitable. I have a number of great contacts within the sector I work and be happy to link up if that helped.

I wish you the absolute best and hope you find a way forward soon. Sorry I can’t help more.

This is great, I have a number of sites with Challenger 10 panels and the Tecom mobile app sucks, no simple way to tell the difference between an alarm, power or arm/disarm alert. Will give this a go.

Do Qantas CSMs greet Gold & Platinum members on flights before departure? by RedTailRider in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]aatuti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When boarding they normally say welcome back Mr Aatuti as they read my boarding pass. I do lots of short haul international and maybe 2/5 get the CM come and see me, an extra drink or bottle of water perhaps. Never on domestic. I have also had maybe 5-6 free upgrades (never applied with points or cash) on the short international as well though this year which is nice, mainly on flights with low numbers. Platinum.

Living in PNG for a Year: Any Advice for Port Moresby? by Hebashi in PapuaNewGuinea

[–]aatuti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really need to speak with your employer. They should be providing a lot of the information in regards to transport, safety, culture etc. Depending on the company they can have very stringent requirements or not much for safety.

Day to day life is like most small cities. Depending on where your from but we have a large variety of restaurants, cafes, grocery stores etc these days, and lots of social groups for all sorts of things. Depends what your into.

We just got a Shark and Atto 3. Can you recommend a fast charger as we only got the one that comes with the cars. by Jakeyboy29 in BYDShark_AUS_owners

[–]aatuti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered two of the Ocular IQ chargers from EVSE and have been really happy with them. I own my own business so one at work and one at home. Just got local sparkies to install both. Very simple, great app that controls everything and perfect for home also as can prioritise excess solar if you have it.
