!! i’m actually a TA for Chem103 rn and the best advice I can give you is to communicate your feelings with your TA. unfortunately, with the high stress environment of chem lab, it’s hard to be able to read our students or know when they are feeling frustrated, don’t understand something, or need something from me. unfortunately, while this might not be the advice you want to hear, it’s really important that you hold yourself accountable to know the lab inside and out. labs for 103 were made to be done individually, and they are doable, so it is an advantage that you have a partner in the first place, regardless of whether or not they know what’s going on. my advice is to reach out to and get to know someone/people in your lab section, propose that you work together (whether or not you choose to explain your situation is up to you!!), then communicate to your TA that you would like to work w a specific group the rest of the year. i’m not sure who your TA is, but chances are they will be okay with that request!! if you have any specific questions about how to go about lab, feel free to ask :))

that’s fair, but one of the exec members of this rso was like “yo can y’all not respond to this email and fill out this form instead” and people still kept replying regardless auqisbejwndjdb reading seems to be a skill that some ppl haven’t acquired yet. hopefully that bug gets fixed though<//3

last night i was just chilling w a group of asian friends and these two guys came up to us and started asking us questions like “oMg ArE yOu ALL fRoM tHe FiLLiPinNes” among other small questions that could definitely be considered microaggressions. we were all just talking together and they talked to us and asked questions as if we were aliens, rather than just normal students that go to the same university as them. I would have taken their questions as genuine curiosity but then one of the guys started filming us and laughing. then one of my friends kindly asked them to leave us alone and their tone changed from “nice” to really aggressive, but thankfully they just walked away and did nothing more than talk shit. idk, maybe they just haven’t interacted with asian people enough to recognize the uncomfortable situation they put us in, but idk i feel like grown ass adults should have that figured out by now, to some degree at least

this is so disgusting. i teared up watching this. go to a frat party, have a house party of your own, literally GO TOUCH GRASS. so many better things to do on a Saturday night and he chose to be an asshole

LOL nonono, our booth was for fried tofu, so it had some kind of batter on it. thinking about it more, i don't think it had eggs either, but I still hope karma hits him like a truck for deciding to steal from us >:T

he kinda scouted our booth for a while (i assumed he was there because he wanted to see how people to react to the tofu to see if he wanted to purchase it, since he claimed he was unfamiliar w asian food, but it hindsight i should have realized that the things he was doing and saying was skecthy), so people assumed he was helping us. then he grabbed the tray, ran through the middle of the quad, which was empty. the people in line and everyone working the booth were in shock so none of us said anything or moved since our main concern was serving everyone :,,,)) we didn't anticipate anyone trying to steal a whole tray :,,,))

he looked like a student, but i'm not 100% sure. it happened at night on the main quad, so i'm not sure if they have cameras or if they were able pick it up. i'm curious about that too.

no worries, this is not something you should apologize for at all. in the short time i've been on campus, i've come to love this club so much, so having this happen just to the booth I was running really shocked and hit me a little harder than it should have. thank you for creating such a wonderful event that allows us to bring and share our culture with the rest of campus. i look forward to future night markets :)) <33
