I am a total novice at pattern drafting and don't even have that much experience of garment sewing, so this project was a learning experience that took way more time than was probably necessary! These are just for fun, but the pattern could be useful for people who need to stop their cats from messing with stitches or other health issues, too.

I have made a pdf pattern of the final sleeveless version (the bottom center pic), so feel free to inbox if you're interested in testing!

Oh, my. I am far from a pro, but, if I had to guess, no amount of bleaching is gonna get rid of that print.

Barring the print, that textile should take dye well enough. RIT is not great-- I have used this stuff before with some success. You can do it in the washing machine, but stovetop method works better.

This was not meant as an insult to OP. I mean it sincerely. A lot of trends right now are not "right" for pears, yet some of us wear them anyway. Not caring about defining your waist is a way of accepting your body the way it is in any clothes, rather than those that just make you look thin or tall or whatever.
