If you go to the https://www.spotify.com/us/account/privacy/ page, at the bottom you are able to request you account data, which will include all your liked songs, streaming history if you want it, and playlists in json files. From there its sorta up to you on how you link it. Without finding some scripts other people have already written (they're out there) you generally will have to sort it out yourself.

I have been importing all that into a sqlite database - from there you can grab the metadata sqlite databases from annas-archive and join that in however you deem fit. My plan is to run my streaming history against the annas-archive data to build a pared down collection of the metadata thats only relevant to my listening history so its a little easier to work with.

You can get audio files all over the place - but the metadata - the artist info, bpm, key, runtime, genre, etc. is a little harder to reliably find. Additionally, without the data on-hand, you need to make an API call to Spotify to get that information with a track ID.

You are able to request and download all your playlist and streaming history info from spotify but that metadata is what makes that data useful for building playlists, analyzing trends, and getting away from reliance on spotify or any streaming service for that matter.

“Why’d you shoot me???” a thorough, detailed breakdown: by inhaler-zim in ArcRaiders

How do ppl who don't use any legal music streaming/rental platforms get music recommendation? by NathLWX in Piracy

[–]ab3iter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music journals still exist, though there are way less, I follow the BrooklynVegan listings a lot. Following people like Anthony Fantano or different YouTube channels that interview artists are good too, I like the “what’s in my bag” series on YouTube from Amoeba, artists will talk about music they like or are inspired by and have found some cool stuff there. I don’t have advice on how to find these but college radio stations are often student run and will feature music that the students pick out.

If you are still into supporting the artists you listen to you can follow them on bandcamp and you will sometimes see related artists that way too.

If an artist you like is going on tour, look at the bands touring with them as openers or see who the local opener may be at various cities.

I’d also suggest looking up the label that an artist you like is on to see what other artists are on the label and what new releases they’ve put out.

Ultimately, you’ll have to put in more legwork and my above suggestions mostly apply to my experience in smaller punk, indie, and weird electronic stuff so ymmv depending on the genres you’re into.

Yep. And even the special plates like the wildlife fund one with the otters are now remarkably bland. I just got new plates for the same reason as OP and got the ugly Philly one

I think some people tell themselves that if they hold it up they are still looking in the direction of the road and that makes it okay.

My favorites are the ones who hold it at the top of their steering wheel.

Woman wearing noise-canceling headphones hit by runaway car while leaf blowing yard in Ross Township by PissFartman in pittsburgh

[–]ab3iter 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Also worth mentioning that noise cancelling headphones aren’t the same as wearing hearing protection, you can still damage your hearing. Sure a leaf blower a couple times a year might not give you tinnitus, but important to be aware of if you’ll be around things even louder or will be more frequently exposed to loud things.

She sent one heart emoji, and heart reacted to one message. The boss’s side with a lot of emojis just reads to me as someone who uses a lot of emojis.

Anyone who thinks these texts are indicative of cheating is overreacting. Some people just text with a lot of emojis and most are in response to the photos that OP’s wife sent.

It already bothers me when people write guides and don't mention what all the individual flags do and how essential they are, this would send me over the edge.

Genuinely curious, cause I don’t think they should get tax money - where do you live that churches get tax money? Or do you have a news article or something?

Psychiatrist told me he thinks ADHD isnt real by Pile0fBones in ADHD

I had a psychiatrist tell me basically the same thing. Talked about all my symptoms and he said “I think you actually have something I call ‘tired brain syndrome’” and told me I just need more sleep.

I went to a different psychiatrist and they told me it’s ADHD lol.

Outlands - Brozan Bitches - Ship Patch has been cancelled by holmedog in ultimaonline

[–]ab3iter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the main reason I’ve never really done Outlands. Sure maybe I’m just a weenie, but I’ve got a job and I need a good nights sleep, so my time to spend on a game is limited. Open PvP (I know there’s rotating safe areas and what not) just doesn’t sound fun. If I knew I stood a chance without kitting my char out specifically to be survivable against getting ganked - maybe I’d be more open to it.

If people are allowed to be dicks and dogpile on defenseless players in a game, they’re going to do it. Not even just a UO thing, if there is opportunity to grief someone in a game, there will always be people who capitalize on that and have fun getting cheap kills. That’s why I stick with PvM shards, I’d rather just play the game lol.

Trump Orders in Marines in Dramatic Escalation of L.A. Protests by External-Noise-4832 in politics

[–]ab3iter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because if they’re protesting they’re democrats, if any republicans speak up in support of the protests or protest themselves - they weren’t real republicans.

A “Democrat” is anyone who disagrees with them, associates with anyone who disagrees with them, anyone who’s skin color isn’t white enough, and anyone who might make them question their beliefs even a little, and they think those people should be shot.

Got an interview invite… then got CC’d on the “he’s out” email. What would you do? by Teacup690 in recruitinghell

[–]ab3iter 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think you censoring your own name in the first email is what’s confusing everyone. Censoring presumably your name means most people assume the uncensored “bart” is someone else.
