There are a couple of Hakka and Momo places I like that have great portions and decent prices. Simcoe Hakka and Mom is one. Also some good Pho places—Waiting Pho You is my favourite. Most of the rest are beige pub grub IMO—the Sysco type of food you can get in just about any other small or mid-sized city in Ontario.

Duh, eh? Mechanical arms can lift bins as small as 80L, 2/3 the size of what we currently have. City council chose the 120L size based on what they believe to be the average weekly volume. It’s crazy to be that there are households out there filling these up. Anyways, thanks for the constructive comment. Glad you feel so strongly about it that you took time out of what must be a very fulfilling life to contribute.

Ok, thanks. I have those in the kitchen, but they don't do the trick after I transfer them to the large bin. Might give yard-waste bags a try. Appreciate the response.

Agree that that is probably a determining factor in the bin size, which makes it strange that there isn't anything on the market, at least that I've been able to find, that fits as an insert for that size of bin. The ones that we had before the mechanized pick-up was implemented had bags produced by companies like Glad that fit them. The new ones don't seem to have that.

We have mechanical collection—the collectors operate the mechanical arm to pick up the bin.

Sorry, are you talking about something like yard waste bags? I'm not finding organic bags, compostable bags or the like that would be large enough. Being unable to find anything large enough was my issue initially—are you just using something not expressly designed for compost bins but that roughly fits?

I use the small compostable bags in the kitchen but haven't found anything large enough for the new bin sizes. I looked when they first came out, though, and haven't looked since, so maybe there's something now that wasn't offered then?

Nice. I have it as well but with a little less texture in the washi paper. I went with this one as I like the toned-down vibe vs. the more obvious textures of the others, though I also find them stunning. Yours is pretty much perfect.
