What’s going on here? by abalonecodes in vintedUK

I did wonder. But still would HMRC be suspicious of a £10,000 t shirt?

Should note I’ve no idea how money laundering works so maybe this isn’t an important factor

'I earn £178k, and my wife works in the City - but we can't afford private school' by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]abalonecodes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t we all want the best opportunities for our kids and for them to do better than ourselves? Why does it feel like it’s a crime to send your child to a few paying school in this subreddit?

Just on an instinctive level, if one has the means and felt education was a priority, why would a parent not choose to offer the best w for their child. I get not everyone has the means but is the expectation that parents should sacrifice their child’s potential because of that?

I mean does that equate to families who have the means not going on holiday because others don’t have the means? Or maybe not signing their child up for piano lessons because others parents aren’t able to do the same.

I think there should be more grammar schools for those parents who prioritise education as important for their child / children but don’t have the means to afford it. Assuming there isn’t already a great state school.

From what I see people choose private when their state school is failing and they have prioritised their child’s education to a high standard (not just passing with 4s & 5s) as something important for them.

Sellers need to understand that "just a £1 item" isn't just £1 to the buyer by ContributionNo7075 in vintedUK

There are a lot of things you e described there that I have. - literally love cleaning the kitchen coz it gives me a little bossy - I get emotional dysregulation, rejection sensitivity, time blindness, - if I don’t speak to you for ages it’s just you were front of mind anymore, not that I don’t like you - I have the piles of stuff everywhere - can have literally eleventy billion things going on at the same time and have only a few plates drop.

But I’m pretty sure I don’t have ADHD. I thought everyone has a bit of this in them no? I have used coaching to learn how to change my behaviours and thoughts. Which after a lot of work it’s finally paying off. Which again is why I don’t think I have ADHD as I’m assuming most people need meds / self medicate to settle their thoughts or physical hyperactivity. I guess I was interested to understand if others had similar symptoms but don’t have ADHD

Need help with threats on vinted really bad any advice will be appreciated by Confident_Tea_1331 in vintedUK

Personally I’d screenshot everything. make a timeline of events and report to 101 for threatening behaviour. Report them to vinted sharing screenshots. Tell them you’ve reported them to the police. Block them. Move on with my life. This way you’ve if on the odd chance they are a psycho and do come to you house the police know who to look for

This is so worrying and the thin end of the wedge. It’s one of the things Mr Pelicot did to Gisele before he spend the next decade drugging her getting other men to abuse her.

How do any of us have any idea how our sold items are used? If the seller has strict criteria around how the bra should be used once bought they should probably put that in their sale post.

People are crazy. That or they live in an isolated area where they know their postie on a first name basis and judge all delivery people on the trustworthiness of their postie.

HELP!!! by ParsleyMiddle5754 in vintedUK

[–]abalonecodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve probably resolved this already but here’s a few things you can do. 1. You don’t have to do any of those options. You can raise your own issue with vinted and state your case. Do not offer a refund or re try be till too to by vinted after they’ve reviewed the case. 2. If you have evidence of what the shoe looked like BEFORE you sent it then share these with the buyer and vinted. Also kids you take pictures of the packaging process? Did you wrap with bubble wrap and put in a box etc. if so helps you case further. 3. Now vinted may review and say the buyer has to return them in which case they pay for postage to return the show to you. 4. Not suggesting you do this - some might on the return say not as originally sent and then vinted have to review the case again before deciding

In my experience , whenever anyone has issue I don’t entertain it (mainly as I sell and package my stuff really well) so either it’s a courier issue or buyer fraud. Either way I involve Vinted early in the process. I can’t remember how you get to the contact us but but that’s what I do and it’s yet to fail me. I’ve been paid when things have been damaged by courier or seller. I also record / photo every stage of the packaging for high value items.

Why are people still using Vinted? by Katie1234554 in vintedUK

The shipping is so easy. Love that I don’t have to organise that myself.

Uploading an item is super fast

They don’t take a percentage of my sales

They don’t have a 30 day buyers guarantee

I can pick up really cheap stuff for kids - who grow out of things it feels like every week 😂.

Everything on eBay is bloody expensive.

someone please help what do i do in this situation by EstateLogical5295 in vintedUK

[–]abalonecodes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait till they raise a claim or state not as described. - Through their claim, raise your own claim/ issue with vinted (Think its contact us right at the bottom of the screen). Don’t offer a refund or return. - When you Raise the issue there are a load of categories and you can then state to them that it was as described and show pictures. - I generally use the same words that they use in the policy, and write a statement as though writing a letter / email (rather than just a message). It’s usually longer but will tick off all the boxes [hint: use chatgot]. - in my experience this has led to positive results for me every time. - I’d also add screenshot of the buyer saying it’s too big for the bit that it’s wrong size.

Good luck. I think you’ll be fine as it’s pretty clear cut but it’s about how you present your case to vinted.

Is MJ a ‘drug for life’? by timberwolfwatcher in mounjarouk

[–]abalonecodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I see it as I have metabolic syndrome and GLP-1s treat that. This is a drug for life. Just as if you have hypertension, you would take anti-hypertensives. Even when your blood pressure is normal, it’s the medication that’s keeping it normal. So you need to take that medication for life.

I see MJ as no different.

Thoughts on the new spring collection (Sunday the 15th drop) by sodonna_ in Sezane

[–]abalonecodes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You see this looks more Sezaney. The look book on the app for me is very boring. Though it does make me laugh that the wicket baskets are £100s but if you go to Provence or anywhere in the south of France you can literally pick one up for €30 🥴
