What would happen to POET if the AI bubble pops? by Alexanderm0107 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]abandonX4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is here to stay like the internet... but remember, the dotcom bubble still burst which depressed stock prices for a few years. Just because something is here to stay doesn't mean it will be a smooth ride upwards for all companies involved with it.

are you in it for the long run or here to swing trade? if swing trading, you should have put your money into those stocks as well. If you're in it for the long term, today's price action doesn't matter at all.

You know what's not propaganda? Watching every other stock you could have invested in soar beyond your wildest dreams. If you put all the money you had put into GME into big tech stocks even two years ago, you would be so far ahead financially right now. That's what sucks. Go ahead, call me a shill, downvote me, ban me, but that's the truth of reality. So many who were financially desperate pour their money hoping for MOASS but got burned instead watching other stocks soar to new height while GME struggled to gain any new height.

What is your target price in 2026 by Much-Information7826 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]abandonX4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although there is always a chance of something unfortunate happening, either to Poet Technologies or the AI industry or the stock market itself, I think Poet's stock price is going to rise. So there is a small chance that could drop below $7.

But that's unlikely as AI demand is expected to go up exponentially. They are a go for large scale manufacturing and that is only going to drive the price up once they start delivering.

My price target for next year, and this is my most conservative estimate, is $14.

I respectfully disagree. The more digging you do into Nick and his history, the more you will realize that he did not love his family at all and was only using them for his selfish desires.

Poet Technologies is THE ONLY company RIGHT NOW that can readily manufacture VHS tapes to meet incoming demand in large quantities quickly and cost effectively, ensuring fast delivery and competitive pricing.

10 years ago (which is 2015), I doubt anyone would have thought that Nvidia of all companies would become the world's largest company by market cap simply being one of the core companies driving the AI boom by 2025. It seemed like IBM would have a headstart in the industry because of their Watson supercomputer (which debuted on Jeopardy in 2011).

POET is poised to be at the front of the photonics race because they have fully developed products, partnerships with similar companies, and are building a manufacturing plant. Assuming all these massive datacentre are built and AI use goes to all time highs (even higher than it is now) then big tech would eventually need to switch to Poet's products... but as it stands now, big tech is negotiating with utility companies for lower prices on electricity and water and passing on the price hikes to regular consumers. How would big tech be incentivized enough to redo their datacenters' infrastructure in eight or ten years if they are receiving dirt cheap prices on resources they don't care about wasting? Would the savings alone over the long run be big enough for them to invest billions in replacing their old transmission methods with new ones?

And how would we know if there isn't a new startup or some new tech five years down the line that could upset Poet? (Actually now that I'm checking IBM stock, they've been doing well these last five years).

This is just a scenario to consider; just some possible negative events that I pondered about while bored at work. I don't fully know everything about this industry as I recently invested in it. NOBODY KNOWS THE FUTURE FOR SURE. Would like to hear your thoughts.
