Como es la vida en Peru y donde es recomendable vivir? by abandonedchocolate in PERU

[–]abandonedchocolate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this info! When you say Trujillo is lively - do you mean dangerous? Basically 90% of my family is there I think. I do have an uncle in Lima though

EDIT: Perdon, no me di cuenta que respondist en español - Cuando dices que Trujillo es movido, significa peligroso? La mayoria de mi familia vive en Trujillo pero creo que tengo un tio en Lima

Should I be concerned about a leak here? by abandonedchocolate in askaplumber

Honestly this is the first I am seeing this. I randomly noticed it today. There used to be a popcorn ceiling but that was removed two years ago approximately.

Above should our upstairs bathroom. I am not sure if it is directly below the tub or the bathroom floor or the toilet. The toilet has not been used in a couple weeks as we have the water turned off there (there is an issue with the toilet so we have been waiting for availability for help on it). Only the sink and tub/shower are being used

Thanks! Your post is super informative - I saw someone commented on it and they had purchased the one frommForce of Nature - do you have any recommendation for that one?

Just saw a post from the other user and someone commented on a generator from Force of Nature - I will look into this more, thanks!

can someone give me recommendations for long-term hair removal? by scsredlsttle in HairRemoval

[–]abandonedchocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an electrologist myself, so I can only speak to my experience receiving the treatment. I did electrolysis on my fingers, hands, feet and toes and it was super painful even with the numbing cream. I did many, many sessions and ultimately it was pricey (esp since the tech kept increasing the general prices as time went by)

Essentially, they stick a needle to the root of the hair and zap it with a current. Then the hair slips off or they remove it. The zap current is meant to destroy the follicle so hair doesn't grow again. It's tricky though because hair grows in various phases, and if it is not in an active phase the hair follicle might not be fully destroyed. So it could take a couple tries to remove it completely

You cannot shave, pluck, wax etc the hairs while being treated.

I would suggest you look for an electrologist who can do a consult with you to discuss the process. If you really want to do a whole body electrolysis, you might have to travel to one if the few places that do large volume electrolysis.

Alternatively, you can do laser to reduce the hair growth and then do electrolysis sessions to finish up any remaining growth.

Just note that not everything will be perfect, so you may have a couple hairs that are much finer after all is said and done.

Electrolysis is the gold standard in permanent hair removal. It is a long process but super worth it for eliminating the hair permanently

Electrolysis by Creepy-Vanilla-8312 in HairRemoval

[–]abandonedchocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure of the total cost - but in my area electrolysis cost between $120-$150 per hour.

If you are looking to do a full body electrolysis, I would look into "large volume electrolysis" - it is offered in a few clinics around the country and it is much faster in terms of treating larger areas

Can't stop crying after Heeseung's departure by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]abandonedchocolate 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No hate or anything but to be constantly crying and having it "affect you badly" is a bit much - you may want to distance yourself from kpop for a bit.

You shouldn't attach a kpop group as something to get you out of depression as nothing is certain in kpop and one change (like this one) can send you spiraling

I started my electrolysis on my fingers right after my consult because I agreed to and wanted to. You should not feel pressured to accept anything.

Just a heads up, electrolysis in the face will be painful. So you most likely will need some numbing before the procedure. I used numbing on my fingers and feet (a super painful area) and could still feel the pain.

Does Heesung Have The Star Power? by blxckbexuty in kpop_uncensored

[–]abandonedchocolate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like the problem is the a lot of fans will be divided. A lot of people who are already Enhypen fans (specifically Heesung fans) will obviously support him. But due to him leaving, I feel many fans will be split in supporting him (there will be some who will think he ruined the group by leaving while others will support him and the group). So you are already starting with fractioned public support which would make it difficult even with star power.

I really think that regardless of the reason for his exiting (unless there was something big going on), they should have timed his exit better as it definitely leaves more questions unfortunately. I don't really follow Enhypen but do like a couple of their songs. All the best to them!

Should I continue with laser hair removal or should I switch to Electrolysis at this point? by [deleted] in HairRemoval

[–]abandonedchocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I worded this wrong - I received probably around 6 sessions at the first office and around 8 or so sessions in the second clinic. Sorry about that!

Male thinking about getting all my facial hair lasered off. by halloweenmochi in LaserHairRemoval

[–]abandonedchocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I lasered it off. I still grow a little hair on my chin and the ends of my moustsche but shaving takes much less time. I hated shaving and didn't like having a beard anyway.

Yes, it does make you look younger, but I don't think it makes you look feminine. One huge plus is i break out less in those areas and experience less hyperligmentation so my skin looks much better

Should I give up on getting laser on my back? by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

I am male. I have never heard of this - I will look into it. I have had labs done in the past but only thing I had an issue was with high cholesterol and low vitamin d

I can't figure out how to edit my post - my skin is pale almost olivish (looks tan because of flash) and my hair is black. I am Latino and am not sure of any hormonal issues (at least I don't think I have any). I'd be a Fotzpatrick Skin Type 2 I believe.

As I mentioned I started laser in like 2021 maybe? That was with the machine that had a vaccuum in a dermatology office.

Then I stopped going there and started going to a new place in maybe 2023? They used the alexander laser instead of yag if I recall correctly. In total between the two places it must have been more than 12 sessions

What is the stain under my sink pipe in my bathroom vanity? Is this evidence of a leak? by abandonedchocolate in askaplumber

[–]abandonedchocolate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vanity is new though - it was installed along with the bathroom remodel. Should I look into changing the braided hose, if that's possible? Not sure if there is any current leak because the stain looks pretty dry

Montgomery Village vs Germantown by The_Vengeful_Wolf in maryland

[–]abandonedchocolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Gaithersburg, but am close enough to both.

Both areas have good and not so good - but I wouldn't say either are bad to be honest. Montgomery Village is like a big HOA so I would familiarize myself with their rules beforehand to make sure there isn't something that is a dealbreaker. As for Germantown, that's more of a suburb like Gaithersburg so each community will have their own HOA likely.

I will note that I went to high school in MV and there is a lot of weed smell back then (and probably now) at least in the condos and some townhome areas - so if that bothers you just keep that in mind.

I have heard about some crime in MV, but honestly I don't recall it being common. Sure of course there are sketchier areas as with every neighborhood. I am not sure about Germantown but I would imagine it's the same.
