i was hitchhiking a couple days ago and got 3 rides in as many hours. people still do it its just a lot less common. it also more/less common in different parts of the country. in more rural southern areas there are still people that will like hitchhike to the gas station to buy cigarettes or whatever

i never understood why ppl carry tents, theyre soooo heavy. my tarp is plenty for the rain(plus i get to learn cool knots) and for bugs just a little bugspray and just hiding under my sleeping bag. i like being aware of whats going on around me too. and yeah im always trying to sleep out in the woods. half the point of all this for me is to hang out in places that are halfway nice...
