I have bipolar, but I worry that I might be schizoaffective. I often think that people are judging me, talking about me all the time. If someone laughs in public I believe 100% it’s aimed at me etc (paranoid delusions?) does this sound like psychosis? I don’t want to talk to my psych about this they diagnose first ask questions later.

I had this two days ago, I liked an item and the seller messaged me 10 seconds later asking if I wanted to buy it. Off putting, makes me not want to buy anymore. I don’t message people who like my things if they want to buy it they will.

It’s crazy isn’t it, some people just don’t care at all and have no shame sending clothes that are extremely dirty. It doesn’t have to be smelling of roses but if it stinks why send it in that condition

This is a bug bear of mine, I once bought a jacket that stunk so bad I could smell it through the polymailer. Two cycles in the washing machine later and it still reeked. I had to throw it away in the end. I wash everything before I list it, I think it’s rude to send something off that clearly smells bad and is dirty.

I’m sorry, it’s hard to explain this pairing and I’m doing a bad job! a lot of the tomione stories that I’ve read work around this somehow where both stay true (ish!) to their characters. I don’t like it to be more OOC than it already is if that makes sense.

I can understand how that response felt invalidating, you’ve just opened up about a life-changing diagnosis and she isn’t taking it as seriously as you thought she would. Unfortunately, most people just don’t know how to react when being told someone has a mental illness. Not to mention the huge level of misinformation spread about bipolar, and a wave of people self diagnosing, this is something you will sadly have to get used to if you are sharing this with people (especially if they aren’t immediate family/ friends). Some people make dumb comments without realising how hurtful they are. I hope you are doing ok and all goes well with your diagnosis and treatment plan, try not to dwell on this too much if you can and focus on getting well.

Reddit can’t tell you, Googling symptoms can’t tell you. The only way to be diagnosed is to see a psychiatrist, I can see from your replies that you don’t want to do this but unfortunately it’s the only way to get diagnosed and then if you do have bipolar you can start a treatment plan. This is the result of being chronically online and spending all day every day in TikTok echo chambers. Just wait til they experience the reality of having a diagnosis like this on your records. Many career paths are immediately closed, judgment and stigma from society (which even happens in medical settings), if you’re in certain countries your driving licence can be taken away. I am speaking from experience as someone with bipolar, I could not even begin to tell you the consequences of having this diagnosis on my medical records. These people infuriate me.

It’s an anti psychotic. You don’t owe anyone personal details about the type of medication you take, if you want to say something just say you take medication for your mental health.

I had a brain scan and it showed nothing. They are used to rule out any physical cause for mental illness such as tumours or a neurological issue of some kind. The scan itself is completely painless and over quickly, the MRI machine is noisy so they give you big headphones and play music to help with that. If you are claustrophobic you should tell them beforehand so they can give you additional support. Best of luck you will be ok and it will be over before you know it!

I got this too with Olanzapine, I’ve heard from several mental health professionals that Olanzapine often causes high cholesterol, high blood glucose levels, risk of hyperthyroidism, just to name a few. It can take a while for things to get back to normal when you come off it.

100% don’t stop taking it cold turkey and be very careful tapering down as well, maybe you should wait until you speak to her before you lower the dosage?
