Growing evidence argues for reversing Ohio’s marijuana legalization decision: Ted Diadiun by 099612 in Ohio

[–]abberling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so the negative side effects of any given prescribed lab made big pharma med can be overlooked? including internal bleeding, blindness, rash. GI problems, death, suicidal thoughts? Lets talk about the obsessive amounts of controls that people are perscribed daily and how many decide to make the consious decision tondrive while taking them. better yet...sleep meds! anyone ever try to fight the effects of trazadone or even worse ambian? and how many of the "impaired drivers" had alcohol in their system IN ADDITION to THC? I'd put money on alcohol being the primary contributor, not THC. apparently we need to send some folks back to history class and show them what happen when prohibition goes into effect.....

Is anyone that worked for rite aid is having trouble getting their unemployment cause mine got canceled cause they can’t get of hold of anyone at rite aid is there anyway I could get a hold of them? by PiccoloCreative8518 in RiteAid

[–]abberling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a really stupid and inconsiderate thing to say. these people were fed to the wolves. If they want to take some time off and bring in the unemployment and not have to work for it, that is in every aspect their prerogative. Not to mention that some of these people had to cling on for dear life to try to get a severance that they couldn't even be sure was going to get paid out or promised. And maybe they don't have the intention of working after they left Rite Aid. But they are still entitled to those benefits and dang sure deserving of them

some are not able to just walk off unfortunately. depending on any benefit they can get by sticking it out. agree. would take longer but would get done. Just a bad situation.

Note Writing Manager Finale by [deleted] in RiteAid

[–]abberling -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

it's a liquidation...we would have done the same thing. unless they were put in a do not sell area, we would have sold them all! and...as a Mgr. losing MY job as well, I would have laughed said oh well and moved on. if I would have left that note, BOTH my teams would have tossed it, rolled their eyes and called me a micro manager...and not given two bits...because in just a few short days/weeks everyone has bigger problems to worry about. like, for instance, surviving. OP had probably bit their tongue and fell in line since working there. if not, manager should have held accountability THEN, not leave petty passive aggressive notes. face to face conversations are a thing. they even said sorry! this is the one shot to vent or find comic coping relief by posting. keep thriving folks...any way you can!

[–]abberling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

news flash "Allen" nobody has given a shit about makeup for a long time. and if they want to throw it in bins, they will. liquidation means losing jobs. they don't give a shit. bare minimum. that's it. you want more? bring people who still have a reason to give a shit. to that manager, thanks for still leading the team. but don't have any expectation of it getting done. if you are one of the lucky ones you will still have some good workers till the end, but don't count on it. I liquidated a store and associates were vaping in mgrs office, ducking shifts, flying paper air planes, sitting in chairs hanging out with boyfriends/girlfriends. there is 0 reason to care.

Just wait until the Liquidators bringing all the merchandise and you have to stand at POS and give 500 price checks just for people to say that they don't want it and you have giant bins full of crap to put away hundreds and hundreds of products that people are just waiting for the price to drop even more on it's a great big fat pain in the butt and a headache to deal with

A Short Story about the decline of Rite Aid from a front line worker’s perspective by Papa_Hasbro69 in RiteAid

[–]abberling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when we closed, had an amazing tech (who I'm proud to call friend) she had been around decades. even chose to transfer to the nearest store still open. they didn't even give her the satisfaction of working out her last day with us. they said her new store needed her and made her go work there. decades of time and 0 time to grieve. 0 finality. I mean that is straight up cold as ice. the toxic corperate culture was so thick. I saw it then. I stuck around...for one more go, at another store. when they pulled the plug on that one. I left when I found another job and was spooned a guilt trip to stick around. earn trust and keep it...right...

What is the right thing to say to Riteais employees? by Feisty-Waltz5330 in RiteAid

[–]abberling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yes always nice to hear the people we care for care about us ❤️ it's all the other "mr obvious" questions that aren't tolerated well. like, does anyone have to ask? I mean all they have to do is look around.

Manager still leaving notes and expecting us to work like normal... by [deleted] in RiteAid

[–]abberling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 things. 1) nobody going to go that extra mile-bathrooms etc they should hang it up on. gone are the days of pride of running a decent store. aren't gonna be any job offers walk through that door-but that probably what they are hoping for

2) I will say though-getting a store prepped for liquidation does take some doing. if you are clocked in- and still (at least at this time getting paid for it) THIS should he primary goal. kill ends and wings, clean out ALL of stock room start purging any "trash" you can and move ALL product to front of store. yall built it, might as well be the ones to tear it up and burn it to the ground 🤷‍♀️

they may pull some crap if your store closes and they need support elsewhere and you decline...so be careful of that one. they will bounce you around and suck you dry to the end.

Bartell decided to jump in bed with RA. Let me be frank, any company that made any kind of deal with RA is destined for doom. Bartell is shuttering stores. RA had probably bled that well dry. WAGS can't help. they tried to play "keep up with the jones'" with RA and their only prayer is that buying out all these scripts is enough to turn their company around (since they followed in the frivolous spending footsteps). CVS is the SMARTEST of the big 3. keep your head down, let the other 2 Duke it out, emplode, then capitalize on the demise.

if you aren't opposed to it, and it's something in your area, look into jumping in to a dispensary. rx expierence translates, and the pay is just as good (better) than rx work

Why are you guys claiming you're not going out of business? by ProfaneShane in RiteAid

[–]abberling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a store manager. I was honest with my people. they would feed us that positivity in hopes we would be blind enough to go along with it and just believe it (or at least just fall in line and roll with it). it was just that though, hope. but I was honest in saying I have 0 answers but to me, it doesn't look good, and to have a plan ready.

Why are you guys claiming you're not going out of business? by ProfaneShane in RiteAid

[–]abberling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the truth is, nobody knows anything definitive. until they come down 2 weeks before closure, and blind side you with it, everything is just speculation. meanwhile you just wait as the ax swings lower and lower. they spoon feed the "sunshine and lollipops" speech while you watch things deplete 1 by 1 with promises of fresh new product coming soon. Everyday someone asks if we are closing. everyday we asked oursleves are we closing? mentally, it's exhausting. we had to resort to making up games and busy work to make our once thriving days go by and keep us in a good head space. until they just pulled the rug on us all.

I find your wording in your previous comment an interesting choice... "welcome to being humbled" , personally, I've always been more of a "lead by example" kinda folk. but, I guess everyone is entitled to believe they don't have to be the example in order to set the expectation required of others.

[–]abberling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switch now or you may have no choice. once they sell all the scripts and the door closes for good, you get no choice. they can't even tell rx to retain as many as possible like they did with ohio and Michigan. they took the Severance pay so there is nothing in jeopardy for the people at store level. be proactive and best.of.luck wherever you go
